Will you have some sort of visual depiction of the space battle, if that's possible?

Boolean differences are usually easiest, so that is what I use most often.Lephenix_dor wrote:OFF TOPIC : how do you do hard surfaces and holes ? Using Booleans ?
It's there already - it's just skydome objects, but there are a handful of Rebel and Imperial ships outside.Jendo7 wrote: Will you have some sort of visual depiction of the space battle, if that's possible?Jendo7 wrote:Will you have some sort of visual depiction of the space battle, if that's possible?

Re: Death Star II: Throne Room
But of course. I've already done it - the whole map has been done (that I wanted to finish before I showed any pictures); I'm really just adding modes and tweaking stuff now. I'll show more screenshots later.Lephenix_dor wrote:Thanks for the answer , that's what i use , can't wait the other pieces , i see there's a red piece in the reference pic , you will do it ?

Re: Death Star II: Throne Room
The map looks pretty small, do you think that will affect the gameplay?
P.S. you should add a royal guard as a playable character on the imperial side durring conquest mode.

There doesn't will be a conquest mode, said Maveritchell.joev14 wrote: P.S. you should add a royal guard as a playable character on the imperial side durring conquest mode.

I love the looks of this map! I've always love your maps (especially the ones from Dark Times II and the Rebel Ops maps)
4 thumbs up!

Re: Death Star II: Throne Room
Here are a few more pictures reflecting some of your suggestions. A couple of you mentioned you thought it needed to be a little darker or a little less single-hue; I slightly adjusted the lighting to address this. Moreover, I went ahead and gave the floors a surface more reflective of their appearance in the movie (as well as more reflective in general).
Someone asked about the red room opposite the throne room, here it is in Dark Times TDM - guards v. guards:
And for maximum anachronicity, here are some clones shooting some droids in CW TDM:
A handful of changes were made under the hood that I doubt anyone will notice unless I mention them here. The hero assault modes (GCW/DT) and team deathmatch modes (CW/GCW/DT) both default to 50 points with no time limit and use the hunt slider for adjusting points (I assume that few really mess with this, but I didn't want to just lock in the number). The hunt modes (GCW/DT), since they are basically one-on-one, default to 15 points with a five-minute time limit and use the hunt slider for adjusting points (points are a percentage of what is shown on the hunt slider).
Hunt mode is also set up so that in single player, there will always be one and only one AI opponent who is always on the opposite team. I know that doesn't sound all that special, but it did require a bit more work than you might have guessed.
In any case, there are a few more special nuggets I want to include with this, but for the most part it is done. I should be able to start testing it sometime between tomorrow and Sunday. While as usual, I will solicit for testers via PM, I do want to guarantee that I have someone with a low-end computer, since my normal modding computer, which is usually pretty low-end, is not available to me for testing (I had to do all the work, except for some pathing and barriers, on a computer that didn't have ZE working - a real pain). In any case, if you've got an older computer (i.e. just barely meets minimum/recommended specs for SWBF2), please PM me with your PC specs (this is of course only if you are also willing to test the map out). Thanks!

So....like the old movie-replica Theed map that had a duel mode with one and only one Maul, Qui-Gon, and Obi-Wan?Maveritchell wrote: Hunt mode is also set up so that in single player, there will always be one and only one AI opponent who is always on the opposite team. Like that, except it was the problems that one had that I am avoiding here. SWBF2 handles single-unit teams in such a way to be extra careful that it does not take the only unit away from a human player. If you have a single-unit team, the game will take a long time before it spawns an AI for the other team. You'll also have problems if you switch teams midstream, since obviously it won't just kill off the other unit.Twilight_Warrior wrote:So....like the old movie-replica Theed map that had a duel mode with one and only one Maul, Qui-Gon, and Obi-Wan?Maveritchell wrote: Hunt mode is also set up so that in single player, there will always be one and only one AI opponent who is always on the opposite team. It is a lot of stuff that most will assume "just works," it is a little more complicated than that, but not too much.

I remember that... so annoying waiting ten minutes for Maul to spawn. Glad you got that fixed!Maveritchell wrote:Like that, except it was the problems that one had that I am avoiding here. Re: Death Star II: Throne Room
Here's the last set of new things I wanted to make mention of - I had mentioned earlier that I wanted to add on some extra goodies for Dark Times. As mentioned in the first post, by complete coincidence I have ended up doing all three facets of the Battle of Endor in one form or another. Because I am a big fan of consistency, I want to make sure that anyone can have the chance to play them all at once - to that end, there will be two bonuses for Dark Times users. In addition to the Dark Times modes on this map, the Endor "objective" mission (from the Rising Son campaign) will be added to the instant action list - before, you had to play through the whole campaign to get to it. Also, if you have both Dark Times and the Conversion Pack in your addon folder, you will be able to play Space Endor with Dark Times units and vehicles.
