I think that title is a little bland...
Maybe I'll think of something spicier.

Care to brainstorm? Title or rank, lets figure out something contestants would be happy with.

My title vote: "Bantha Steak Taco" icon of Bantha in a hard taco shell. Just because.

Yeah, I don't think of those guys as new anymore, but I can remember when I did. They used to be real n00bs
I might have an idea for an entry... maybe if i have time I'll do it.

Count me in! I will make a goofy map. Perhaps a Team Fortress 2 type side (with random units ie luke/han stormie/clone etc. With pwnsauce weapons and an epicasauce map. And Some portals and zombies too. And to top everything off I will add an easter E.G.G. (yes, E.G.G stands for something

)I will continue to work on Earth: Apocalypse, so dont worry there. ETA 8 weeks to finish this

should be fun!

Oh I love contests, will there be only one first place or even a 2nd and 3rd place?

Rules
Deadline: 6/16/13
@CommanderCody - The contest now has a total of twelve participants. With three possible places out of the contest, 25% of the contestants would get a title. With future contests, we would have already given a title to a good portion of the modders in this community. I think that a single winner for each contest will be far more rewarding.

They were set by guru himself or at least he approves of them, and his words are the law.
Also, the only real restricts are the deadline and that there is one modder per team. Nothing bothersome enough to spark a discussion.

In my opinion the first 3 vote getters should get some kind of mention in the thread but 2nd and 3rd shouldn't get custom titles.

If I get a chance to finish any of my maps, I'd likely throw it in to the contest as a submission.

Wait I have a question. If I finish before the deadline am I allowed to release the map to the public? I think that it may be unfair since it gives other people more playing time on certain maps compared to maps that are released later but before the deadline. And another question, how does the release process work. What I mean is when the deadline is up do we submit our maps to the judges via dropbox or just release them to the public all at the same time or what? Thanks in advance, I hope that will help avoid confusion towards the release date.

I think authors' identities shouldn't be associated with their submissions until after the contest is over, like in previous contests. Otherwise, there could be biases during the voting process if voters were to have a vendetta against or preferences towards participants.
Also, there seriously needs to be more restrictions in this contest, especially with the theme of the maps, modes to utilize, etc., because there are going to be some judging problems in the end. For example, how would one compare two equally well-made maps, where one is a standard Star Wars conquest map and the other is a campaign-only some other science-fiction franchise map? All this contest has done so far is establish a deadline for when maps need to be done. Take that away, and you might as well be working at your own pace.

I like that idea, it should make for a fair contest. By the way, is there still room on the contest to join, because if there is id love to be a part of it. Wasnt sure if i was clear enough in my last post, better safe then sorry

Very good questions guys. Yes I think the mod submissions should be anonymous otherwise; like AQT stated, they may have biased opinons about the modder. Upon completing the mod, or if you are satisfied with it PM the link to myself or judges. (If any of you would like to act as judges for this contest please let me know.) If no judges voulenteer I'll hold onto the links till the contest deadline is reached and release them anonymously for the community to vote on.
What kind of rating system would you suggest?
http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com
Used this type of rating system but the catagories do not specify what is required and primarily consisted of opinions of one person.
Art: 3/5
Tech: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Fun: 4/5
What kind of rating system could we implement for the judges that would be both fair to the modders and to the community?

Just to clarify, the theme of the map and sides has to be goofy, correct? It is a little misleading when it says Goofy/Any.

Someone needs to make all Disney characters as playable characters on a "Disney wars" map! I'd pay to play that lolz

No, the sides can be anything, goofy included.
