Ok, I'm trying to get the DC-17m Sounds to work properly. I've followed Majin Revan's Tutorial but, the sounds don't turn up. Can someone help me through this?

Sounds are the most cantankerous little buggers of all of the things a SWBF2 modder has to deal with, it seems to me. (Maybe animations, but whatever.)

It's hard to tell what your problem is with what little information you've given us. Post the various files that you created while following the tutorial--perhaps there is an error in one of them. Other than that, I can only recommend that you delete all of those sound files and start the process over again. I think I had to follow that tutorial like three times before I got it right (and I never did figure out what I was doing wrong.) :?

Code: Select all

soundflmunge.exe : Error : Unable to open file E:\Backup\BF2_ModTools\data_GHS\Sides\common\sound\..\..\sound\global\effects\ui_load_lp.wav - while munging E:\Backup\BF2_ModTools\data_GHS\Sides\common\sound\global.sfx
soundflmunge.exe : Error : Unable to open file E:\Backup\BF2_ModTools\data_GHS\Sides\common\sound\..\..\sound\global\effects\ui_load_lp.wav, format may be invalid - while munging E:\Backup\BF2_ModTools\data_GHS\Sides\common\sound\global.sfx
soundflmunge.exe : Error : Unable to read file list E:\Backup\BF2_ModTools\data_GHS\Sides\common\sound\global.sfx - while munging E:\Backup\BF2_ModTools\data_GHS\Sides\common\sound\global.sfx
First, what does this mean exactly?

Not sure, but I'm guessing that your .wav file isn't saved with the right formatting... Try opening your .wav with Windows Sound Recorder and doing a save as (you'll want to rename the original file first just in case)--theoretically that should save it in the correct format.

I think. :?

Arg, just to save time and trouble I'm not going to fiddle with the sounds. I'll just use close comparison sounds.

If I'm not wrong these errors are just a modtools bug...
You should show us your SND, ASFX and REQ files
