I've run into a slight snag here. My disk is damaged, and the system often refuses to read it. I can still work on the map, but I probably won't playtest as much until I can get a replacement.
Edit 2/10/08: Situational Update - I've managed to locate another copy of SWBF2, and will reinstall sometime this week. I'm also finally working on the backstory (Keris' story) again, though it's more sorting details in my head and writing down notes than actual writing. I know it's only indirectly related to the map, mostly, but I feel the two are linked to a point that it's worth mentioning. (Feeling inspired about the story and my characters usually spills off into a modding spree somewhere.) This map is more of a test run with some elements of the story mixed in (or so I've planned), and I may actually base a separate map directly on the story later, but that could change. Nothing new has happened with the map itself, but I've been using the past week or so to clear my head and shake off the feeling of not wanting to play the game.
Edit 2/15/08: Map Update: I finally got around to putting an R5 droid in each ship without incident. Since I'm doing this, I'm considering changing the spawn locations to allow better traffic flow. The idea would be to allow a craft to come in at either side of the hangar, then they can move around behind the spawning vehicles, and exit the other side without having to fly over someone trying to take off.

Hmm, so you did go with the teleport technique then?

@trainmaster: Yes, I'm using the teleport method. I thought I'd made that clear. I just haven't put in an exit for the bridges.

Like I said in the announcement, I'll release it before the month's out. If I can release it sooner, I will. I have a lot of work to do in the mean time.

Alright, here's an update on the tasks at hand.
- giving all explosive ordinance on spacecraft a numerical limit
- Localization
- finish shot spread values for most weapons
- replacing the DH-17 model with Rekubot's
- changing out the unused T-21 for what should be a better model
- definately tweak the T-21
- tweak memory pool values
- put a blast door or something to cover the ISD bridge access corridor, which currently terminates as a solid black wall
I should be able to work on some of these a little this morning.

Alright, with just over a week left, here's the current to do list.

- Localization
- finish shot spread values for most weapons
- replacing the DH-17 model with Rekubot's
- tweak memory pool values
- put a blast door or something to cover the ISD bridge access corridor, which currently terminates as a solid black wall
The T-21 (t551's) is well...even I'm amazed. It's definately not something to stare down the business end. Now, it just needs to get a proper texture, possibly some scaling as well. I'll need to check against some images from ANH.
While I'm at it, I'm thinking about shrinking the detpack to about half it's size. It's always bugged me that you're running around with an explosive as big as a backpack, or cabinet door, that has all the power of a frag grenade.

He he, and it will be harder to spot, which is fulfilling of it's surprise purpose.

Exactly. I'd much rather use a model that looks like the charge we see Han placing in the Endor bunker, but I can't do that just yet.

Lol! Yea, you'd expect more from a Star War era det pack to be more high in tech than a box with electronic charges. I always thought that it was less effective than the grenade.

While I could argue about the effectiveness, what really gets me is that nobody asks how an engineer can carry three charges of that size. He must pull them out of his rear.
I want to do more with dets, but it'll have to wait. I'm going to have trouble finishing the tasks I already have in time.

You should reskin the dets of the imperials, and make them gray and more machine like. The current ones look like a homemade bomb.
