There was one that waved an E-11 in the air, but didn't show him shooting it.

And that one Ewok knew how to start a speeder bike, so presumably they can watch the stormtroopers to see what they do to make the E-11 shoot, and then do the same.

Yeah. Octopuses can imitate actions of humans, so why can't Ewoks, more akin to humans, imitate human actions?

Okay you're right here. I guess though the point wasn't for them to be be all brutal and gory so that the movie would be rated R. But Lucasfilm could've made them a bit more "graphic" like killing the imperials with spears instead of just hitting them with sticks. In the film they were a very brutal group, but we didn't get to see much of it.

I like the ewoks. They are kinda awesome..

Actually I'm reading Zahn's Choices of One right now. It seems like Thrawn himself had planned the Death Star II's defensive setup, and the Emperor had followed Thrawn's advice to the letter except where the Ewoks were concerned. Thrawn warned the Emperor, "don't dismiss too quickly those natives you mentioned. Even primitives can sometimes be used to deadly effect." Palpatine dismissed them anyway, and look what happened.

Thrawn ftw, Palpy ftl, and Ewoks a bland so-so in the middle, imho.
