Flyer spine/regions

Okay, so following what someone told me to do, I addeda region in the place I needed it in for flyers. I did what the doc said to, add the prefix danger to the region, I called it dangerflyer1 in the region id box in ZE, and I made the type danger. Now, this should have made the flyers avoid this region, but it doesn't quite work. The ai now avoid flying into the center of the spire, but they still head right to the sides of it.
The region covers the whole thing, so why aren't they flying all the way around the spire and region?

And now the other part, my command ships, jedifighters, and geofighters follow the paths for the most part, they do an excelent job of avoiding things, except for that spire, since they seem to ignore the pathing I set up there. But in all other parts of the map they follow the pathing. The gunship don't, however. They take off, fly a very short distance and then start practicing ballet. How can I get them to follow the pathing? Yes, I've read teh doc about it, I didn't mees with any of the pathfollow values. The gunship seems to do this to a lot of people. Ohma 'Dun has the same issue.

From what I've heard the region needs to be quite a bit bigger than it actually needs to be. Flyers will actually fly into it and then look for the fastest way out once they realize they're in danger. But that's just what I heard.

Ah, well that makes sense why they fly into it and turn right into the wall. Okay, this will require actually moving the spire tehn, since it borders right on the control region.

Can't they overlap? I guess you don't want to the gunship to spawn in the danger region, but whats the problem with them taking off and then getting out of the region ASAP?

Maybe you could raise the region off the ground a bit, to ensure that they actually ENTER the region. I figure an AI flyer too close to the ground is dead anyway.

Well, it's notthem. They avoid the region, but just stay in one place after moving for about five seconds, and just spin in the air.

Which version of the gunship are you using? There are two types normal flyer and commandflyer
rep_fly_gunship and rep_fly_gunship_sc the latter if I am not mistaken uses a different set of paths
*tries to remember what was written in odf* than the former. That may or may not have something to do with the ballet. :D

It's the former, rep_fly_gunship.
