Win7 32-bit or 64-bit?
Well, I'm finally upgrading my computer from Vista to Windows 7 but the problem is I can only get in 32-bit instead of 64-bit. All I want to know is that what's the difference from 32 to 64? Will it still work normal or will it look totally different? And can I still play all my games in a 32-bit operating system?

If I remember correctly, the difference lays in which processors it supports.

32-bit is compatible with older processors and drivers, but 64-bit is more future-proof and slightly faster.

if you have over 4gigs of RAM, you HAVE to get 64bit to support it.

If you have 4+ gigs of RAM, 32 bit will only see 3 of those gigs. 64 bit sees it all. I'm not sure what 64bit's limit of RAM is (if there is one), but if you put all the RAM that your motherboard will support, it will see all of it.
In a nutshell, first make sure your processor is compatible. All quad core and i7's are. I'm not sure about dual core's though.
Then if you have more than 3 gigs of RAM, its worth it.
I'm running Vista x64 bit and having few problems, 7's should be just fine

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit has a limit of 192GB of RAM, 64-bit processors have like a theoretical 17.2 billion GB of RAM limit (or something close, don't remember exactly), and I looked around at motherboards, I found one for $900 bucks that has 4 processor sockets, which means it can have 128GB of RAM

Dual cores are compatible with 64-bit. At least, Core 2 Duo is.computergeek wrote: In a nutshell, first make sure your processor is compatible. All quad core and i7's are. I'm not sure about dual core's though.
