I'm going through the first map tutorial in the BF2 Modding FAQ, and I am having some problems. First of all, I noticed it is a tutorial for BF1. Isthere stuff I only need to do in the tutorial when modding BF1? I am going through the tutorial as best as I can and here are my questions:

1. "The first thing I usually do in Zeroedit is adjust the viewport; select Object edit mode, and in the object browser that opens at the bottom of the screen, click on CP1, then press the o key to centre the camera on the selected object." I can't find the thing that says CP1!
2. I'm pretty much stuck after I put in the textures. I'm not seeing any of the grids shown in the pictures.

this wont really help since I dont understand exactly what you are saying, but could you explain how you added textures? When I try it shows the white paint thingy and doesnt show texture on the map.

He is modding for SWBF2. The tutorial we posted is for SWBF1, but for the most part applies to SWBF2.

To answer your question, SWBF2 uses layers a lot more. The best thing to do is read the docs that came with the tools on ZeroEdit, as they're updated.

He's asking if there are any parts of the tutorial exclusive to BF1, because he's modding BF2

The grids such as height?

Look at the top of ZE and select what you want to view.

This should give you the "grids."
