First of all, welcome to GT!
Now, a definition of the word munge.

Munge: verb
A BF2 modding term meaning to compile your map into a format which Star Wars BattleFront 2 can use to show the appropriate effects, terrain, and objects as you have directed in Zeroeditor, your sides, and also your LUA scripts.

lol that was kind of fun. :)

When you want to make a new map you have to go into BF2_ModTools\data\_BUILD and double click on
Modtools VisualMunge.exe and then select your game modes you want in your map. Then click munge.
Seriously though you should read the Getting Started doc in BF2_ModTools\documentation. This is all explained in that document.

I would personally not only read that, but all the docs a few times. Don't make it some boring thing, read through them all once and then again when needed. That way you become familiar with many different aspects therefore making you potentially a better modder (this is in theory not neccessarily practice, though it has proven to be sometimes). :D

The word munge is actually a sort of joke. What it really means is to "imperfectly transform information." Like if you heard several bits of information from several people and you kind of make a little story out of it that isn't really true...its not that its just false...you just munged the truth a bit...

It also has a derogatory meaning that's irrelevant and I probably shouldn't mention it here.
