Oh! What about the TIE Phantom? I wouldn't be very strong, but it'd be Diet Dr. Pepper fast. And it would be able to turn on a dime, just like the TIE Interceptor. It wouldn't really have any weapons though... maybe a laser cannon or two... but it'd mostly be meant for speeding around, dodging enemy fire instead of combatting them head-on. It's a pretty simple one too, so if you can make a Defender in two hours, you'd probably be able to make a TIE Phantom in 15-30 mins flat. Seriously, you should make it.

Oh, and I should maybe mention that the TIE Hunter has proton torpedoes and ion cannons too, along with the laser cannons. Just letting you know, because... well... just because.

then once u guys finish the TIEs :atatpilot: , someone needs to make some reble stuff! then once both are done someone should make a huge besbin platforms type map with all of em! that would be totaly wicked!!! :mrgreen:

hey, I bet Saturn Labs and other ODF experts could get that phantom to cloak.

Yeah, the units have the disguise kit, so now a vehicle can have something similar. When it activates the cloak (disguise kit), it will cease to show up as an enemy, but the Empire's cloaking device achieved invisibility. So when the cloak (disguise kit) activates, instead of swapping MSHs, it swaps the current texture with a clear one, so you can the ship is impossible to see too. This can't be done to shipped vehicles because the transparency stuff is made in XSI.

Yeah, but the cloak would have to run out real quick, so as it's not too unfair.

But it'd probably recharge pretty quickly too. I think the TIE Phantom would be a revolutionary vehicle for SWBF. So simple, yet so awsome. :P And a bunch of cool stuff to boot! (extremely fast, highly manuverable, cloaking device, etc.)

i think the phantom should be able to hover, so when u push the "s" key the phantom comes to a complete halt.. that would be awsome! it also needs to be able to accelerate realy fast... you know what maybe it should go backward when you push "s" and stoped when nothing is pressed... that would be cool!

Bandu: I'm still working on the skin for the TIE Chopper :? its pretty hard, because it has other kinds of wings :?

but I'm soon done with it - and then I'll take the Aggressor :)

you can take the Phantom if you want to :o

I'm a little occupied these days, so I think you'll be able to create more :roll:

why are you all doing these never in film seen fighters.....the TIE Defender is really famous but the rest Oo y dont you make vehicles like the big flyers?no animations only better textures and pilot posisons.....you could make a really really huge space map where u fly a star destroyed and mon calamari....then you could also insert your new TIEs......you could make hangars in the destroyes so do something whith your modeling skill and please no TIEs anymore :P

Yes, I agree with the starship suggestion. Maybe you could try your hand at porting some of theseandthese models. They seem to be the right size for swbf.

If you decide to try your hand at this you'll need this file converter to take the '.opt' file to convert it to 3ds and tga's which can be used by xsi. An odf will have to be made from scratch.

I really wish you'd try to port these ships, because if you succesfully ported one, it would unluck a library of 1000's of battlefront size and quality ships.

Oh, and if you do, you'll have to register and pm at the first sites forum for permissions.

I think more ties are cool, and they wont necessarily kill the rebels, because you can edit ODFs to make y-wings/x-wings way stronger :D The tie phantom should be awfully powerful, because one tie phantom could easily take out 2 b-wings O_o

Yo Ace_Azzeman, if you get me the model files I will convert and import any and all models I can into SWBF. However I am also a busy dude with dozens of TDM maps in the works as well as the ARC project.

Therefore I would ask you to download them and a zipped pack of all the models you want turned flyable and send them to my gmail account.

P.S. you are all too narrow minded by the way... just cause he make 30 new TIEs doesn't mean all 30 will show up against the measly rebel ships... a modder just has more selection on the TYPE of TIE he throws into his map...
