Also, I managed to make Jango's Jetpack missile a homing remote missile, along with a DC-15S Blaster that can take down an MTT with two shots, and the Force Maelstrom, except to the extreme! Like Force wave, but will send one flying for miles!
None of those are unconventional at all. They're just ridiculously overpowered. All your changing is a few values.

Hmm...running out of unconventional ideas
Can you make a homing rocket fire lasers/missiles/other homing rockets?

Nobody said anything about mine
They not only were unconventional, but also canon.
Agonizer
Unable to kill completely - enemy is always left with a minimal amount of health left (and CIS droids are immune to it, also, even with FF on) but almost instantaneously decimates enemy HP. Short range, of course, but capable of affecting several enemies at once, like the bothan spy's incinerator. Canonically, only the CIS would wield this weapon.
Vioce Stream
Would look something like a loadspeaker, perhaps? Anyway, it would make an inaccurate, but fairly long range sound ray which is very effective against infantry, but extremely ineffective against vehicles.
Tensor Rifle
It alters a body on the cellular level, according to Wookieepedia. Obviously not short range like the bothan incinerator, but should work with similar concepts.
HeadBanger
Basically, a bunch of cords come out at short range, and anything they touch is pretty much a one hit kill. It would require an even shorter range than th ebothan, though, and the user would lack stealth. Also, it would have a large overheat recovery time.

I got a couple from watching random YouTube vids. Both of them are very similar.
1) The Lazer.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSVNbxjdvv8
Basically, the IFT-X beam cannon fired from a unit's face. What would REALLY be fun is if you figured out how to auto fire weapons at random. Then, create a mode where all units on both sides only have the Lazer and random Lazers are being fired at foes (and accidentally the occasional friend) throughout the map.
2) X-Men powers. More specifically, Cyborg's red lazer beam shooting from his eyes.

Biohazard - only the first is really that unconventional. It could be done using a lua weapon that sets the victim's health to 1. The voice stream is a manipulation of perhaps two odf lines, the tensor rifle would be just a normal incinerator with a fancy description (since in BF2 no one cares, really, if a rifle "alters a body on the cellular level"). The headbanger is one quick custom effect and a few odf changes.
Padawan - Not sure, though that would be interesting. It'd be the equivalent of dispensing a flyer.
Twilight - the laser beam from the eyes isn't too unconventional; it can be done by using a weapon with its hp_fire moved over the unit's eyes. And I've also never seen X-Men.

All unit weapons shoot from the head position. The only unit weapons with variable firepoints are melee weapons.

Slightly offtopic, but is it possible to fix that shoot-from-head thing? That really bugs me...

@Clone: I guess so...
Alright, now I know there's been alot of discussion about dispensable bodyguards, but, is it possible to make one attack a specific target (possibly including teammates too)?

It is possible, but it does make straigh aiming a lot harder (if you shoot from the head and point from the position of the head = what you point at, you shoot. Position the point from where you shoot on the chest and let the POV stay from the head = you will miss most of the time)

If you follow a bit of this discussion, you'd see that yes, it is possible. Shoot a "command" weapon at a target, and OnObjectDamage check GetObjectLastHitWeaponClass, then set an AI goal for your bodyguards to kill the target, and wipe it when they're done.

Why not make it shoot from the hand, then, or some other part that holds the gun (and hence follows your reticule)?

Unless we are talking about two different things, this image speaks for itself.

If it is speaking, it is confusing "muzzle flash" with "fire point."
The muzzle flash is an effect that is shown at the hp_fire of a weapon. The point from which a weapon is fired is always at the head position, regardless of the position of the bone_head (I'm guessing it is related to the invisible bounding boxes all the units use regardless of actual geometry). You don't notice on blasters because they are fired more quickly, but every projectile weapon is fired from the head position.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up.
Back on topic now.

How about a supply drop. simply throw a nade, or something like that, get the position, have a ship fly to that spot and shoot, its only weapon would be a health and ammo dispenser.

Inspired by MW2? Which reminds me, would predator missiles be possible? For anyone who doesn't know what that is...

Off-topic: Why?
On-topic: I'd hardly call that weapon
unconventional. They use supply drops in real life. They've been used for a loooooong time.

Why? The reason over 600,000 other PC gamers are. Activision stabbed us in the back. PC gamer are the ones that made the call of duty series a success, now they are shortchanging us, as a modder (i assume you are since you are at this site) you should boycott also. They have removed dedicated servers from the game, there are no "real" servers for multiplayer. Every online match is hosted off of somebody else's computer, giving them 0 ping while you will have reletively high ping. This also means that there will be no mods, and that for additional content you will have to pay them for it. Ill stop raving now, if you want to confirm/learn more about what I just said use google.
I believe a supply drop is unconventional, for swbf2, I have never seen it done yet, and its not something that can be setup by small modifications to a stock odf file.

Frankly, boycotting is just Diet Dr. Pepper stupid, you aren't going to accomplish anything, and not only are there probably 2 million people out there being grateful for what they got, every day at least one of your 600,000 boycotters gets a right thought in his head that he isn't going to accomplish anything, and goes out and buys the game.
7% of original COD players not buying the new game isn't going to scratch the surface of their profit margin.
Yes, I made that number up....
On-Topic;
A few slight odf changes for a supply drop is hardly unconventional, unconventional would be something like scripting a gunship to come in, land, then drop supplies off, and even that is basic for someone who knows how to do that.
