I am curious as to whether anyone figured out a way for flyers to fire while landed. It seems as though it is considered static until take off, but I am uncertain if there is a way to change that. Before I try anything, I just wanted to know if there has been any work in such an area before.

That's a hard-coded value. Until 'takeoff' is complete firing is impossible.

I thought that was the case, but I figured it was better to check.
