Just check the odf file and it should tell you.

You should just need an "hp_fire1" and "hp_fire2," along with your dummyroot and hp_weapon.

sorry this is abit of a mini bump but i really need help. i just cant get my staff to work. everytime i try its crash to desktop time! i dont understand apparently you need a hp_active hp_weapon hp_fire1 hp_fire2 hp_effect1 hp_effect2 thats judging from what different people have said but whatever i try crashes. can someone (Experienced) tell me step by step on how to do this?

its hp_active, hp_weapon is for if your making a unit

hp_weapon = where the unit will hold the weapon ((hand))
hp_active = where the weapon will be held ((like the handle on a rifle))

you can either use hp_effect or hp_fire, doesn't matter aslong in the odf you use those nulls.

i have a question now again. it isnt just for my electro staff but for a new lightsaber. okay... in game my lightsabers and staffs seem to be well side ways. like if in a normal fighting stance (lightsaber) the lightsaber is pointing down when it should be forward. how do i do this? i have the lightsaber in xsi facing the z axis.

thanks alot

you need to have it vertical in xsi. For instance, for guns you put the handle through 0,0,0 so the unit grabs hold of it there. Just imagine the lightsaber grip being the handle of the gun.

i do that anyway, but thanks, its just how does the game know what way the lightsaber in XSI faces i am facing the Z axis and im at the point 0,0,0.

any other ideas?

thanks though Murdocr

If its a weapon or something you have the top of it pointing to y ((I think, the vertical one)) since its a simple(?) lightsaber you don't need to worry about the face facing zp.b[

How about you post a screenshot, then we can see how you have everything set up.

Well said, Fred.

And Ace, isn't that Electrostaff a bit too large for a weapon..? o.o

That was mine, xD that was v1, v2 was alot better, but massive, I have it rescaled to like 0.03 in the .msh.option.

v3 has better better texture UV etc

Heh - thought so

and I knew it was yours.. I just thought he hadn't been realistic when he slaced it up this far  I thought you had it in 'real size'?

So why is he sitting with the v1 if you've got a v3? :?
