This! To all of you!

I like pretty much ALL the EU stuff, except the older young author books and the Crystal Star. An original story sounds fine, but I'd like at least a few nods to the "established" canon that I know so many of you don't care for. This is my opinion: Go Kyle Katarn! Go Thrawn! Go Yuuzhan Vong! Go Abeloth! Go Waru...Oh no, not Waru.

Anyway, I don't think anyone who is decrying this purchase by Disney has a leg to stand on, since the only evidence of how they handle the external properties they purchase is Marvel, and that has gone extremely well.

EDIT: Also! This is a great read: http://www.cracked.com/quick-fixes/4-re ... star-wars/

Ping wrote:They most certainly weren't good. There are some individual books in there that are great (Dark Tide, Destiny's Way), but overall, it's mediocre at best. The only high points were the battles and the duels, tbh. I also wouldn't call it the worst sci-fi arc; Legacy of the Force takes that cake. At least the NJO had a redeeming factor or two.

Ping, you pretty much share my identical opinion. :O

God dangit! Never ever ever EVER link me to Cracked.com! I'll be stuck there for hours! :x

(I'm making a joke for those with the inability to tell).

It is an interesting read. I liked it.

Also, LOL Lebowski.

I saw this at a bungie private group, i first tought it was a troll.

I have only one thing to say about this. vNot sure what to expect. I hope they respect the canon, at least. I also heard that most future games will be all focused on MMORPGs, but i dont know if this is true, i would appreciate if someone could tell me the truth. I do hope that they get a better cinematic feel for future media. Clone Wars was very nice, The Clone Wars its just meh...

The term I heard in many articles was "social and mobile gaming", so I wouldn't say MMO's, but it won't be big AAA titles. They are going through with 1313 and they didn't exclude the possibility of other console games, but they do say that they want to focus on social and mobile gaming.

I feel that it will either be really cool or really bad. A lightsaber is my weapon of choice, and with today's technology I'll bet that the lightsabers will look terrific in the movie.

Regarding lightsabers, I hope they don't continue the trend of making them straight, smooth, perfectly formed tips, etc. I like the tapered flickering look like in JKA a lot better.

Now that I know it's being written by the writer of 'Little Miss Sunshine' and 'Toy Story 3', I have a new hope.

But,

That sounds like great news. No?
I sure hope so, as long as Woody doesn't get a cameo :runaway: Seriously though, it should be great, the script for Toy Story 3 was brilliant.

So they're resurrecting Vader in this trilogy.

Uh...huh...

Hidden/Spoiler:
He better yell "YEEEEEEESSSSSSS" when it happens.

A few places are reporting on it, so it might not be true. I wouldn't put it past Disney to bring back something that brings in the cash, though.

It's a lot more likely to bring back Palpy than Vader, they already did in the EU.

Probably here: http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/357 ... esurrected

I highly doubt it, because the article also says that Mark Hammill, who is now 61, will reprise his role as Luke Skywalker. Does it look like he can still play as Luke Skywalker?

I think he can play an old Luke Skywalker, yes.

I hope they aren't moving the movie that far into the future.

Why? The difference between episodes 3 and 4 were about 20 years, why not about 30?
