[HELP]Localize tool

Post by BadWolf »

Hey hey! well, im in abit of a bother you see, okay let me to get to the point

Ive read up on the localize tool as thats what i thought is how i am ment to change a classes kits' weapons, so far its complex and i cant get my head around it, ive tried to read the topic http://www.gametoast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=971 but i cant really make it out :?

the tools i got to make this work is a zip folder called unsupported_swbf_mod_tools.zip, which inside is BFBuilder(that is one of the requirements of modding BF1) i also have the Best of pc fix for it(because thats the game i got, dvd version) and the BFBuilder Pro_2.0 HTML applcation.

what ive been trying to do is this:
I've been trying to get a clone trooper's(so far the standard clone) blaster pistol to be a two-hand held weapon with ammo, and with either semi-auto(each click fires like the commando pistol) or automatic(like the rifle). thats my first task in modding bf1,

thes are my later ones to do but they seem to be more advance for me at this time:
few others have come to mind, like increasing the rate of fire of the clone rifle, making the Jet trooper red with a clone rifle(the long DC-15) like on the back of the cover of the PS2 and Xbox versions as seen in this link http://www.covergalaxy.com/ps2/Star%20W ... 0COVER.jpg

I Would like someone to help me though this problem and learn how to do some basic moddding in SWBF1.

First off, it is not possible to do two-handed weapons in BF1. Sorry, I've already asked about it.

The rest of what you want is quite easy. If you don't know the basics of side modding, go to the "FAQ/Everything you need" thread(s) and learn that part.

Now, assuming you now know what files to copy, the way to increase the rate of fire is as follows: Open the ODF of weapon you want to edit (EXP: rep_inf_weap_rifle) and find the line "shotdelay". The lower the number, the faster it shoots. A standard rifle shots at a shot delay of 0.2. A Commando pistol is 0.05. I'll let you take it from there.

The color bit is all about editing TGA files (which are the textures). Get either Gimp or Paint.net then check back here.
