W.I.P KotOR Essential Vehicles

Hello GT

I have noticed the success of the SWBFI Con. Pack, with one of its quite fun eras, KOTOR era, by Mav(right?)

Yes, indeed. KOTOR mode was implemented to ALL stock maps. Yes thats fine and dandy, you would want a different kind of plastic boy to shoot and a yoda who actually passed English class on EVERY stock map would you? But theres a problem.

big open maps, such as Kassyykk, Hoth, and Haruun Kal, to name a few, are missing an essential factor in gameplay: Vehicles.

Yes, big maps such as those are quite boring if you need to walk 2.4 km to find that ur target may have just died of exhaustion cus he was weaker than u(or worse, he got killed by someone else :? )

Now you may say: "But dude, KOTOR didn't HAVE any vehicles, they were all fancy space battles and epic jedi>sith slashings, no way there was a massive tank pointing a cannon at you"

Wrong, in my revisiting of KOTOR, I have found at least TWO potential candidates for vehicles. They may not have tanks, but think of other vehicles(and trust me, unless you visit a mediocre mechanic, every vehicle is faster than the average 2 pair of LEGS) such as the landspeeder or swift speederbike.

And with that I announce to no further ado, the KOTOR style speederbike! (of course a WIP)

Original ref pics. They are from 2 planets, therefore proof that they are probably a mainstay normal speeder, that probably could replace the 74z speederbike in GCW.

With the backside modelled, you can basically see that it is roughly 50% done isn't it?

More will be updated, not just to this model but maybe new ones shall spring up.

If you are thinking I am making a side mod for the KOTOR era in BFII, then forget it. That would be reserved for someone else who can(just credit me and whoever helped)

What I want is to give it to the public so that no longer will KOTOR maps be plagued with "Death Via Exhaustion" reports, or have GCW era vehicles only to be asked "Hey, that ain't meant to be there!"

I'll of course, need some help. 9pose and texture wise, but I can easily handle the model.

That's because I didn't have access to their source and couldn't simply replace vehicles. It's a lot easier to add units than vehicles. Remember, I had a KotOR swoop at the time anyway (which is what this is a different version of).

Well swoops weren't designed for combat. You could easily implement a blaster attachment to a speederbike or landspeeder though. I am just adding more variety, and perhaps now an accessible source, as you said urs isn't accessible.

You could make the "attachment" to anything you wanted - they talked all the time about swoop "gangs" in KotOR, which leads one to believe you could have weapons if you want.

And my model has been available for quite a while now, I said nothing about it being not accessible:

None of this is to say that you shouldn't work on your model, I'm sure it will be nice - I'm just correcting a few assumptions you made.

Well you can't really take a swoop-race-track oriented swoop out on the fields, seems sorta impractical(like putting an F1 in 6.00 p.m traffic). Smaller swoops like the ones I saw were actually seen on streets, open fields, and pedestrian roads, so I think they can be designed for the purpose. So maybe the gangs implemented weapons on-track only. Just sayin.

But anyway, whatever you say rolls fine with me. Sry for my wrong assumptions. And thnx for comment! :mrgreen:

STILL updating this! Update on the first post. Got most of the lower body done.

Gonna strive to meet the standards of Caleb's model at least.
