I added a custom drone (recon droid) weapon to one of my units. However, upon crossing bellow a certain height in the map, the screen zooms out (as if it's self-destructing) and I loose control of the movement and aiming functions of the drone. I can still fire both weapons (pointless when I can't aim) but even when I self-destruct, it won't zoom back to control of my player.
To fix this I simply gave the unit the default recon droid, figuring I would just work out each feature step-by-step, however, even this looses control.
Any similar experience and possible solutions?

Woah, wierd. Once you lose control, can you still press the 'exit vehicle' key to jump back to your unit? Is this height something encountered in stock maps, or is it something really deep?

The "exit vehicle" key wont work, and it won't work it I try to rotate weapons.
The height itself is 18-24 units above ground level (0).

That is really weird, because that means max height isn't an issue. Still go to you LUAs and see what the max height is for your map. Maybe bump it up just a little bit, to see what happens.
