mm So Maybe Tatooine luke can be on Yavin IV? That would be good, good map for gun-hero, and it would be more correct. Anyway I like him on tatooine also lol.

The only time that Luke fought imperials on Yavin4 was in the JK series, I think and there he wore his black clothes and used his green lightsaber!

mm, right, luke only fights imperials in space and on the death star. He does cross the dune sea in his search for R2, you can see it in ep IV script.
There's a tusken raider who tries to shoot him and another one who holds him. That must make Dune Sea the map being closest to seeing ep IV luke in action. There are afterall tuskens in it.

Oh geez, here we go again.
Why does it have to be EXACTLY like the movies? If that was the case, I might as well pull the Clone Wars era, since we have no record of them ever fighting on the Dune Sea.
Tatooine Luke is staying, and that's that. End of discussion.

Nice to read that! IMO he is a great char to play!

Indeed, he's Diet Dr. Pepper good, and he just suits best on tatooine too.
1 problem, In conquest on rebels side no hero spawns no matter how many stormtroopers I kill. I became war hero by just killing troops, hero was set on 10 points and got no opportunity to play as hero.

I had the same problem.
It isn't Dune Sea

In Episode IV when the Tusken attack him, it isn't the Dune Sea; it's the Judland Wastes. I agree that not everything is as it should be; but we can all do our best to make it so, right? Personally, I do think there should be Tatooine Luke on Mos Eisley, Death Star, and Yavin IV only. That's it. But if you want to put him in Dune Sea, I cannot interfere. Your map, your wish. I just made a mere suggestion.
I, too, cannot spawn Tatooine Luke in Conquest Mode. Please fix this as soon as possible. Thanks!
Post Script - When is a new version coming out? I said I wouldn't be able to use till 27th earlier, but that's not so anymore.

Why must you continue to ask this question? Didn't we already discuss this?
As for the complainers about Tat Luke... Heres a shocker for ya...
The Dune Sea, even in BF1, wasn't even accurately made. There isn't any buildings that close to the Sarlac pit, not even the smaller Sarlac that dwells on Tat.
And heres another shocker... Obi Wans home isn't that far away from there, so whos to say he never came close to the area before ROTJ?
It doesn't have to be exact anyways. And yous really make yourselves out to be hypocrites when you say you want a map to be exact... when the map never was exact to begin with.
Rock on Teancum.

Off-topic : I agree with you on the fact that the "Tatooine : Dune Sea" level made by Pandemic Studios isn't that "exact", but they couldn't have designed an entire desert, comparable to the scene you can see in Episode IV or in the "Introduction Movie" which appears when you launch the "Galactic Civil War Campaign" from Star Wars Battlefront...
Moreover, the stuffs the "Gas Mask Studios" made for this game may be considered as a real "reference", used to evaluate all "user-made" mods released so far, and since they've worked in collaboration with LucasArts, we might think that all the levels shipping with this game are rather "exact"...

Never once suggested they design an entire desert, but the area in which they built around the Sarlac is completely inaccurate.
Which makes all these complaints from some people all the more pointless, if you ask me.
And I don't mind it being inaccurate. I was simply making a point.

Considering that Pandemic included the CW era on the Death Star I don't really mind an Episode IV Luke as the Alliance hero.

I agree with Y2g2006, In the ep IV script is stated that Kenobi's place is beyond the dune sea so luke had to cross it to get there, also there's an 'exterior place' designed with the name dune sea and luke is in it (or passes by in speeder) ...
Anyway, it doesn't even matter anymore lol, Teancum has decided that tatooine Luke will stay, and that's the way it will be lol. And by the way tatooine Luke rocks on tatooine. Superb to play with. (only want him to work in conquest, but I trust that will happen.)

Way ahead of ya. He's the Alliance hero for all modes. I fixed the Conquest bug where you couldn't play as Luke after getting enough points. That's up for the next version.
In the way of updates:
-Sarlacc Pit is back in, but it's got problems. It cuts a hole in the terrain for it (don't worry, it's supposed to), but for some reason then is placed somewhere different in-game
-The desert skiff is in, but it too has problems. It's sunk into the ground. This means teh original model will have to be re-exported
-I will be adding a modified XP-34 Landspeeder to the map (the same model that Luke had). I say modified because it will have twin laser cannons
-I've done some work on Jano Morel (Republic hero) -- but I decided he shouldn't have regeneration anymore.
good ship!!!!!!!!!

You can put this ship in geonosis space?
Is a great ship for the republic in geonosis space.
Sorry for my english.

Awesome, I'll be looking forward to using the Torrent Fighter. I just suggest changing the texture to make it look more realistic because right now it seems a little cartoony.

by him
it would be really awsome if you could add that to ur space geonossis map Teancum
maybe u cud use the ARC 170 texture

More updates:
-The Republic now has one AT-XT walker
-The skiff is fixed (kindof)
-As I said before, the Sarlacc is in and works very well
-The Modified XP-34 Landspeeder is in
-Even more work as been done on Jano (he may have regeneration after all)
-Hunt mode works (except for some localization issues)
-XL works (though vehicles have not been added)
-Both CTF modes work (though vehicles have not been added -- no flyers in CTF -- it would be to easy to win in this map)
-There are two 'Hunter' classes for the CIS (in CW) and the IMPs (in GCW), and 3 for the 'hunted' -- two Tusken and one Jawa
-The flyers in Conquest mode (and possibly in XL) will be slower than space fighters so that you can control them more accurately to BF1
Also:
-There is a very slim possiblility that the Rebels will have the AT-PT from BF1 that never worked right (but we will call it the AT-LT, since we don't wan to confuse it with the real one.
-I still need to add one or two of the BF1 Combatspeeders for the Rebels
-I'm doing what I can to get the CIS Mortar Tank in, but it's got problems still, so who knows whether it will be in.
Off Topic: For all my Tech Map fans out there, I jsut wanted you to know that those vehicles are still being worked on> As you can see, I'm trying to put some of them in BF2 maps, which motivates me to finish them.

I like the idea of slowing the ships down. It'll make air to ground, and maybe even anti air, attacks a lot easier to pull off.
Good thinking
