So I decided to dust off BF2 and indulge in a little nostalgia, installed fine, maps and mods work fine, but I can only play them for a bit and then this wierd thing happens.
So I'll be running around the map and then this wierd sticky-keys situation happens. First of all, the game freezes and as I hold down one of the movement keys, W A S or D it just beeps repeatedly and more rapidly as I hold it down. And then I release the key and the game unfreezes and its all good.
Until I try to move again.
I have no idea where this problem is coming from. Has anybody else had this? And if so is there any way to fix it?
Battlefront II - Beeping while moving. WASD sticky keys?

I get the same issue sometimes when modeling in Softimage. I'll be holding down the O key for orbit view and I hear the Windows Error sound repeatedly playing. I fix it by simply clicking the mouse in the viewport a few times, and then the issue dissipates.

So the problem seems to be only with the WASD keys and thr R key, so its probably a problem with my keyboard.
Until I get a new one the workaround is to use the numpad and arrow keys . . . this will take some getting used to.
