When I came to this site, I was shocked by the lack of trolls. I didn't see any of this:

There haven't been any significant trolling-sprees in the time I've been a member. Any trolls that found their way here would have had their accounts wiped within hours.

Due to GT's strict discipline, if we do get a troll, he does not last long. Trust me.

This is part of the reason why the staff is pretty strict, but by and large, because this is a site dedicated primarily to disseminating information (i.e. teaching people how to mod a game) and not social communication (although this is not to say that's not part of the site - just not the main part), we have the benefit of people coming here because they want to learn. That helps immensely in providing the kind of situation you mention.

Every site gets those kind of people, though - they just don't come here often and when they do, they don't usually last long.

There are some instances if you go back into old threads, especially wip threads, but it generally wasn't intentional, but more due to little experience with the site/community.

Only staff can set that rank.

There have been quite a few.
Most were attacked by me when I was younger and less composed.

However, I think three of them were the same guy and one was just an arrogant...dastardly...person.

Captain Mazda. Used to be a good mapper, but then he started openly picking on the younger members and started throwing racial slurs against a former staff member when he was told to stop.

Then he signed up again and spammed a couple random threads with NSFW pictures, proclaiming "SCREW YOU, I'M CAPTAIN MAZDA!"
