Not to sound rude or anything of the sort, but are these two pictures a joke of some sort? Again, I'm not trying to sound rude and I'm super excited to get my hands on this mod, everything you're doing looks great, apart from those two last pictures. Droid jedi? Really? I played the beta and the sides seem pretty balanced even with the sith having a jedi soldier and the republic not. It still works great, I don't think we need something that ridiculous. As for the republic commando, if you make him bald he'll lok like Xerxes from 300 :P I think he looked way cooler with hair! (He looks perfect in the demo)

Thanks for putting the effort into this mod, hope to hear back from ya.
Mod looks awesome, I played the Endor/Alderaan beta and I was completely blown away. Just so Diet Dr. Pepper cool. You're doing some great work on this! I do agree with the previous two posts though, not trying to tell you have to make your mod or anything, but I did like the balance it had just the way it was! Droid jedi kind of makes you go 'hmm...'. No offence meant though, honestly, just sharing my thoughts!

Never the less, super pumped for this to be released. I literally cannot wait!

I don't think so much of it as a "Jedi Droid" per se, more like a Lightsaber Combat Droid designed to help the Jedi, like those found in the training grounds on Yavin IV in SW: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (except in JKA, they were for training really, not necessarily meant for sending into combat). If it has force push and what-not, then I can kind of see it being weird and ridiculous, even for Star Wars, however I believe this is more of just a droid with a lightsaber meant to fight against basic Sith Warriors on the field. It's not so farfetched in Star Wars to be honest. That's an argument for another time, though. We've seen weirder things. Yuuzhan Vong for example?

However, all it looks like to me right now is a slightly reskinned B2 with a lightsaber. If someone could modify the model a bit more to resemble something you'd find in TOR or something, perhaps it wouldn't look so out-of-era. I don't mean that in a harsh way, I just feel it shouldn't resemble that much of a B2 is all. I would never put down your work or disrespect you. I hope this is seen as constructive criticism as it was intended!

The bald commando is awesome though. No suggestions there, Delta.

If you want Delta, I can make a small little remodel of the B2 (giving him another head, and maybe some added armor). I don't play TOR atm and don't know how these droids would look like, but I would like to model something cool, non-canon, if you want.

Are there jedi droids in TOR? (I don't play it either) I can't seem to find them on wookiepedia, and I'm just wondering if they actually existed in that era.

Jedi do use droids as training targets, and many droids in the galaxy are able to fight using vibroblades, but no droid Jedi.

But were they used as soldiers in the battles during the TOR era?

To be fair, there is a lot of silly design ideas in The Old Republic. I wouldn't put it past them to use Jedi droids or whatever you wanna call them.

All I'm saying is, don't bother getting upset about their canonicity, this is a very hazy and poorly defined era, I think it's okay to get creative with it.

Oh rrrreeeaaaallllyyyyyy (Link) While it isn't completely a droid, it's pretty darn close.

He is right no mention of TOR but does it really matter when at the bottom of the article is Skippy the Jedi Droid

Good old skippy. So non-canon.

I'm completely on board for the idea of just putting weaker human jedi in place of the droids, just spitballing here but like a jedi sentinel or something. Obviously it's still and always up to you Delta!

Stop the discussion now.

I take this as personal offence and I don't really care about other opinions, I do decide what I put on my mod.

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, I know how it feels when people are over-criticizing things in your mod(s). Sorry for contributing to criticizing, I was just having some fun with it.

Good luck with your mod as always. :)

There was no offence intended, so I apologize if that was the impression you got. I'm grateful that you're making this mod, in fact the other day (before I found this thread) I was saying to my friend who also plays SWBF2 still, "I just wish someone would make an epic era mod set in the old republic" and lo and behold I found this thread.

That being said, I don't think a little creative criticism should and ever did really hurt anybody. I realize that it's your mod, you're the one who's putting the effort into creating it, however you're posting changes and updates in a "work in progress" thread, and forums are meant to engage discussion, and in discussion people will inevitably voice their opinions, which was all I was doing. Seeing as how many people around here will probably be playing this mod, I don't understand why it's a problem that we all attempt to contribute in some way or another. I was only trying to tell you that your work in the beta was amazing the way it was and that I felt the soldier was a step down from something that YOU had already created. And that the sides (again, that YOU created) were already balanced without something like droids carrying lightsabres.

Apologies if I offended, I'm pumped to play your mod when it's finished.

I like the concept of a saber droid, because it reminds me of Jedi Academy when Rosh was a rear-end and released a few saber droids against the player.

Is it going to have force powers as well or is it only going to carry a saber? Legitimate question.
