"The Big 'L'" updates start here (Spoiler Alert!)
So here is a funny story. I have been a little unfair to my "Rebel Ops" story; I meant to have the whole thing nice and wrapped up by oh, about mid-spring. I ended up making a few models over the holidays that I found I didn't really have any use for, and so I decided I needed to do a small project to use them; that project turned in to "The Dark Times" and I ended up spending about three or four months working on that. Whoops.
Anyway, I recently started work up on the second story in the trilogy; The Big "L." If you have played through "Aquilaris: Deep Sea," you may remember that the main character, Vace Thermill, ended up that mission as an Imperial prisoner. The Big "L" starts immediately after Thermill awakes in a deep underground prison.
The Big "L" is going to be a mission with three distinct phases - the first will be a platforming phase using a pseudo-grappling hook, the second will be a stealth phase, and the third will be a flying phase. You may find out more about these, but chances are I will be pretty tight-lipped on giving away plot points for this map. Feel free to discuss any plot points from Aquilaris (they can no longer be considered spoilers past this point) and any speculation for this story.
The map has only just started work, but I did want to make a small update and show a couple of the models I'm working on. I want to try and use only my original textures for all my props; so far I've done that (although in the following shots I am still using a stock grate texture as a placeholder). Here are a few obligatory screenshots:

I never thought I would be so impressed by pictures of caves.
Good luck, Mav'!

Just what I thought too.
Looking great so far. Will the dropship you made make an appearance in map?

Looks pretty good Mav! Can't wait for another adventure (as long as the uber elite AI don't pwn me over and over like last time...

)

I rarely if ever make a model I don't plan on using, so chances are good it will show up somewhere.
RepSharpshooter wrote:as long as the uber elite AI don't pwn me over and over like last time...
AI will be less of a concern (really only notable in the stealth phase) - you won't have a blaster (or any kind of weapon at all!) in this map, so most of the story will be staying away from AI - you are trying to escape a prison, after all.

Whoo! I loved the structure of Aquilaris, I can't wait to see what else you've got here.

Interesting. If I'm not coming down with the swine flu, I'll be watching this!
The cave texture is a bit odd, but I think you expressed that.

I don't know, caves don't exactly look like part of a starship to me. It might be underground; I wonder what planet?

The Wookiepedia article says the ship is buried beneath the surface of Coruscant. Although that doesn't necessarily mean it is inside a cave or something.
Frisbeetarian wrote:It might be underground; I wonder what planet?
Hmm, perhaps a planet we already know well? Somewhere we are not expecting, like Kamino or Kashyyyk, every planet is virtually the same undreground, it could be anywhere!

Still we are here in the time of the GCW and according to Wookiepedia during that time Lusankya was a prison for a while buried beneath the surface of Coruscant.
But I think we will know it fur sure once the map is released.

Well, I think its still possible. I read the book that the Lusankya was elaborated in, The Bacta War, and it said there were entire libraries and stuff in it, not to mention the prison. It might be possible, but I'm not so sure looking at those tunnels now.
