Press P (polygon select) beside the bit you circled, Unclick ISL (Island select which select every thing connected to the part you want) Select the just the poly you want to move and move it.
Make sure not to select any adjoining lines or vertices of polies you don't want to move.

but the lines have all together one point so on the points aren't connected 2 lines like an normal quad there are 4 lines connected from the neighbor quad too

how about trying out what fragme suggested? he works with xsi for a really long time already, so what he suggested may indeed work.
oh, and make sure vertexbleeding is disabled, its the button on the left side of the upper row.

uh, yeah thats because its "u" and not "p",sorry.
you have to press it first and then click on one point of the poly, which is not connected to the other polygon, that you want to disconnect

'Tearing'(press the small T button) has to be enabled for this to work. U is raycast poly selection in the 3d viewports, P could be "polygon" selection in the texture editor(same as using the polygon/face selection button next to the T button).

u is also the polygon selectionfilter in the textureditor, for me the small t is the "transforms" button. i guess it changed from 5 to 7.

I marked on your picture. Note when you select 1 edge or 1 point on the polygon all the points of the polygon will turn red this is normal. Make sure the 1 point or edge you choose is not touching any other polygon or it will get selected to. You can also select the poly by putting the mouse cursor in the middle of the polygon as well, This works well if you are trying to get a polygon out of the middle of a bunch of them.
You can also use polygon select in the modelling space, either rectangle select or raycast (U) to select the polygons which then will show up with the vertices as red then you can just move it within the texture editor that way. I often jump between both methods depending upon how easy (or hard) it is to get just the polies I want.

Mod Tool 7.5
In the texture editor click on the big T(tearing mode) then the little p(polygon selection) and make a selection then press v(translate) and move the polygon/s where you need it/them. To move individual overlapping points just press the little v(vertex selection) with tearing mode enabled then select the point sample handle and press v to move it.
All of this stuff is covered in the
XSI documentation.

Sorry, I meant the small button(compared to non-texture editor buttons) with the big t/T on it, although theres only one T button...
