Adding visors/ capes to custom models

Adding visors/ capes to custom models

I am almost done making a custom side for a map and I have been using andeweget's TCW Trooper, but using the same model with simply different skins isn't appealing to me and i'm sure it won't be for other players.

So to change things up I wanted to add visors, capes, or backpacks to the model's and the Mapping/Modding tutorial that I am using never covered how to do that.

Is it even possible to add capes to custom models or does it have to be built into the model itself using a 3D editor? If it is possible I would be thankful for the help telling me how it is done or referring me to a tutorial that explains how to do this.

For the visors and backpacks you can use addon meshes found here (from the Assets Links Thread topic):
