Crash Logs

Post by Nobandwidth25 »

I'm getting the same series of errors on my crash logs... but only on certain maps.

At first, I had a problem with custom maps I made myself (using only stock models) kept crashing, even with the VistaMungefix in place. The crash logs all looked like this:
Hidden/Spoiler:
Message Severity: 3
C:\Battlefront2\main\Battlefront2\Source\LoadUtil.cpp(1019)
Unable to find level chunk in MISSION.lvl

Message Severity: 3
C:\Battlefront2\main\Battlefront2\Source\LuaHelper.cpp(112)
OpenScript(ABCc_c): script (46c562ac) not found

Message Severity: 5
C:\Battlefront2\main\Battlefront2\Source\GameState.cpp(1283)
Could not open MISSION\ABCc_c.lvl
When I looked at the error-logs explained, it said these three errors came from a munging issue, which would indicate a problem with the map. Then I ran into something else.
--------------
Recently, I downloaded different maps from Filefront, and while most work just fine, some are crashing and when I run modtools, the error-log is giving me that same series of messages. The only maps that seem to crash are when the maps are part of a pack and share a directory, or when I play a custom campaign mode (Conquest seems to work just fine), but for some reason, it doesn't happen on all of them.

For example, the Talus Hillside map works fine in conquest, but the campaign crashes. Squeddies Mappack crashes in every mode on every map, even though it works for other people. Generally speaking, if one map in a pack won't work, none of the maps in a pack work. On maps where the campaign won't work, the conquest mode works just fine.

Then on the other hand, other maps with custom missions like the Rebel Ops work just fine. Even the Aldura pack (Which is both a mappack AND has missions) works just fine for missions and in conquest. There seems to be no unifying feature on these errant maps.

-------------------
Basically, I'm getting these same three errors on a myriad of maps with certain characteristics, but somehow not getting them on other maps with those same features... and on maps other people seem to have no problem getting to work.

Any clue what could be causing all of this and what I can do to fix it? I'm running Windows 7 if thats any help (And yes, these errors even happen in compatibility mode).

How many maps do you have installed? Try cleaning the addon folder (or moving it) and playing the stock maps. I'm pretty sure error one causes error two causes error three, so search around for mission.lvl related problems.
