Avias look nearly identical to the plane I intented to make (they where build out of the remains of it), but they are still not the same

Made this when I was burnt out on texturing the KSE Firespray. I wonder if AQT would approve. =p

When showcasing modeling work here get into the habit of including wireframe images also.

There, it ain't pretty but it doesn't need to be considering it wont be doing any deformation or used for sculpting. Wanted to make it so that all the geometry was 1 piece with no open ends so that it could be textured with less chance of noticeable seams along UV boundaries.

It looks very nice.

You're doing some kind of a Shadows of the Empire mod?

Na, I just always loved the ship and SotE but I suppose a skyhook map could be done...

Good to see you are taking your old WIPs again, i love the first version with the texture, this one looks nice too, looking forward to see the texture with the new things you learnt while texturing your Slave I.

^Someone else actually textured the old one and I believe that one may be lost in the sands of time...
EDIT: NVM, found it but I prefer the new one, the old one was made way back before the SWBF series even existed, was a test to see if I could make gun turrets work in JA.

Here is a first time try to model a gun from scratch (without reference, it's just some random gun/rifle) and at all, I used Blender 2.49 to export it to XSI easily. images !! :
Comments, criticism, ideas ?

Really nice! Only can see one thing which is bad - you should get rid of those seams - it's really easy to do and can reduce the vert count by quite a bit.

Thanks, and about the seams, how would I get rid of them ?

The most poly-efficient way would be to just totally delete the seams if they don't in any way affect the model, and then just connect the two sides. If you're lazy you can just match up the two sides so that the centre seam is perfectly overlapped, then select everything, hit "w", and select remove doubles. Even if you're not removing seams, it's always worth removing doubles when you're completed the model, as you can sometimes accidentally create a lot of doubled up vertices.

By seams I just mean vertices running down the middle of the model - I'm guessing they're just leftovers from when you mirrored the vertices on one half? If you're not using them for some special purpose, you should just remove them.

Ok I just noticed that in blender and I'm working on it, thanks Lucasfart !

It's pretty good for a model you made without references, and you're pretty new at modeling as well,, yes? Well anyway, my biggest complaint is the number of sides you used on your scope. You have what, 32 sides on that I'm guessing? Try 12, it will get the job done and you'll never see a difference ingame. Otherwise your model is "wasting" a lot of polygon detail, since SWBF2 can't show detail on a model very well, on that scale anyway.

Ok thanks Wulfman I'll try and change the scope, well I used Blender already quite a lot, but never to do something serious, so yeah I'm quite new to modeling (especially weapons).
