Rogue Squadron

Since I seem to have recreated the Rogue Squadron game over in the media forum, I thought I create one here for the people who loved it. I've only gotten to play the first one though, I keep on forgetting to buy them on Amazon since they're just like under $10. I got Rogue Squadron when I was like seven or eight and I'm just amazed of how much the graphics has changed since then, lol. But I don't really mind about the graphics, it's about the game.

I will be adding a poll to see which one of you have played which one of the games.

Why isn't Rogue Squadron 64 up on the poll? Anyway, I use to play this game a lot. I got at the swap meet for $7 USD. It was one of my most favorite games during 2006. I played it so much that I eventually filled up the Elite Rogues section with my initials (AQT) with every single gold medal earned next to each one. Of course, I used the IGIVEUP cheat though (infinate lives).

The V-Wing Air Speeder was the best ship in the game (at least for me). I would use it on every stage if I could (not available on Snow Speeder levels and Taloraan). How? Well if you unlock the three bonus stages with the cheat code (Hoth, Death Star Trench, and Beggars Canyon) and earn a gold medal on each level, then every ship will be available for every stage.

Fun game it was. :)

I don't think I've ever come across that one. Was that before Rogue Squadron 3D?

I'm not sure but it's the same thing as Rogue Squadron 3D. 3D being for the PC and 64 being for the Nintendo 64.

I've played them all, but unfortunately Rogue Squadron 1 does not work with Project64.

I've played all 3 RS games. They're all really fun, but the third and first games are probably the best. In the third, you can fly tons of different vehicles, and there were ground missions, a co-op mode, and a useable AT-ST. Too bad the V-wing only appeared in the first game. I loved that vehicle...

Also, don't you think it would've been nice if mod tools were released for Rogue Squadron 3D?

Rogue Squadron on the N64 and Rogue Squadron on the PC are pretty much the same, as far as I know. I owned it for the N64, personally, and loved it.

I never liked the V-wing much outside of the level where it was your default ship. I'm an X-wing guy myself. :)

I own all the games and love them (well, maybe I don't like Rebel Strike as much, but it still has some good stuff). The only tiny rant I have about the changes between Rogue Squadron and Rogue Leader is the removal of the ability to cycle between firing modes (single shots, dual-linked, or quad). Yeah, you can still do it to some extent depending on how fast you press the fire button, but it always bothers me that the first shot is a quad shot. Yeah, I'm nit-picky. :P

It was a fun set of games, but it never stood up as a flight sim the way the X-Wing/TIE Fighter series did, to me. It always felt kinda slow. I did enjoy the couple of versions I've played.

It was the very first Star Wars game I owned. The most annoying but fun was the Construction Yards.

I feel the same way about that level. Most annoying level in the game.

On a different note, my favorite levels would probably have to be Sullust, Chandrila, Kile II, and Mon Cal.
