Be sure to read the readme!
I present to you today Extended Galactic Conquest, in which you play as the Rebel Alliance in the Galactic Civil War era, but in an expanded and correctly-laid-out galaxy.
If you read the readme, you'll know what to do with this (download link):

Well, at least any that you haven't downloaded already, but yes. Fortunately most of them have reasonable file sizes.

Just curious - for dobido, why didn't you just call the custom sides in your lua using "dc:" instead of making the player copy it into their gamedata folder? Also, how are you using multiple maps for one planet (ie. Bothawui, Rhen Var)...are they randomly selected?

Hey, that's cool, trying that now, that's cool when all the existing and available maps are on your external hard drive and they are classed by makers :P (i spent days downloading each map i saw, even not interesting ones, was usefull finally). Making an addon folder specialy for it and trying now  .

EDIT:Also, thanks for the map list and file names data folders list in the end of the readme  .
And good choice on the maps.

I was treating the sides more like a mini-mod, and had more maps in the works that used the sides, so I figured I'd put it in the sides folder rather than duplicating it for each map, may not've been my best decision ever, but it is what it is.

And yes, where there's multiple maps, there's random selection. Also included in that category are Tatooine, Geonosis, & Death Star, (And did I forget any? And stock Geonosis has a GCW mission added via the EGC folder) because of the stock maps.

I think that if you ever release a 2.0 version, you should include a map-pack of your maps, if possible. You have an excellent body of work, and it would be cool to have it all in one place.

You can have it in your map folder and still load it in different maps. How do you think people load Dark Times and other popular era mods into their maps?

ie.
ReadDataFile("..\\..\\addon\\BDT\\data\\_LVL_PC\\SIDE\\dark.lvl",
Awesome. :)

I played this conquest a bit, and it was really good. :D
In the space battles, the frigates are finally behaving like they should, flying all around the map.
The land maps are well done, with an excellent gameplay.
The only complaint I have is that the Empire cannot be played :vader2: .

I'm having some issues getting this to show up on the Galactic Conquest menu. I downloaded all the maps and put them in my GameData\addon\ folder (including the EGC folder) and place the .lvl file in the GameData\data\_lvl_pc\ folder as the readme suggests. However, the option isn't showing up. Is there something that I missed? I'm currently using a version of the game I downloaded from Steam. Would that cause any issues? As far as I know, the folder structure remains the same as it did when I used a disc version of the game. That is, except it's C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\Addon instead of C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\Addon.

Do you have the 1.3 patch installed?

Re: Extended Galactic Conquest

Yeah, I suppose that's true; you will need the 1.3 patch for this to work, because that's one of the things the patch does, allows custom gc scripts. Fortunately, you don't need to install the entire conversion pack just to get the patch (though the patch is also included with the conversion pack)...the link in the post above should get you up and running.

I have a request for this - it's more related to one of your maps, but I thought I might as well post it here. Do you think you could tone down the reinforcements in Jade Moon? It was the first map I played, and having to get through 600(?) or so reinforcements really wrecked it for me.

Any opinion regarding the increased number of starfighters? I thought it made things quite a bit more lively.

As for the Empire, now that you mention it I'm pretty sure I could cook up a custom_gc_X.lvl file for that without needing to change anything else, so I should go do that. Then it'll just be a matter of swapping it in and out with the other one, same as Mav had us do with his KotOR GC.

Yeah, I could do that. The map does still have some issues to fix anyway (In his review of 1.3, Mav pointed out the lack of localization for the custom vehicles in CW, for example.) The initial thought was to have the number of reinforcements change to reflect the increased number of troops, so that the battle would last about the same length of time as usual. As you have said, that didn't quite turn out right, apparently--don't know if the bots just aren't very good at killing each other or what--but it does last a bit longer than what is good for a galactic conquest battle, yes.

It seems like it would be a lot easier to download if you had a single download with all the maps inside it, instead of a ton of individual downloads.
