PS2 Cloud City, things remain black

I have one of those issues where I've tried tons of different things and the issue persists. I officially give up and hope Gametoast can give some help. I am converting Cloud City to PS2 and several buildings just appear as solid black no matter what I do. Below are screenshots of the issue. I really hope someone who knows more about graphics or models can look into the files and see if they can find what's wrong.

The textures may need to be compressed a certain way (via OPTION file).

I've tried lots of tga parameters but nothing changes the issue.

Something with a shadow volume or LOD setting? It looks distance related

I think not, the objects are solid black no matter how far away or close I am to them.

I wonder if they're too large in size to light properly. Try splitting the meshes up into smaller ones.

Whatever that means I am sure I can't do it. I don't know anything about working with models outside of hex editing flags/materials.

Are only certain buildings/objects solid black...or just certain textures? few objects share the same texture and if the texture works somewhere but not everywhere then maybe the problem is somewhere inside your .msh.
Is it at least possible for you to import the models in xsi to share us your hierarchy there. Otherwise I doubt you did edit the .msh files at all while converting. Did you try removing all other buildings except for the black ones? Maybe this map has some limits reached for the PS2 regarding texture amount or file size. I am not sure.

- I don't know how to use XSI, at all.
- I tried editing the MSH files in several ways to change or remove flags/materials
- I tried editing MSH files so that each model finds its own textures but this did not work - this also takes up more video RAM

Post one of the affected MSHs here (or PM it to me) - I'll try to look into it tonight.

With you being a high level modder and all I assume you've got BFBuilder downloaded/installed. Below I will list the MSH files from the Bespin assets that are giving me trouble.
- bes2_bldg_mall.msh
- bes2_bldg_square_bot2.msh
- bes2_bldg_chamber_exit.msh
- bes2_bldg_d_landing_station.msh
If you don't have these files then I will send them to you later.
