Weird cape bug

Weird cape bug

okay this bug is rather strange. so i made a custom side called "clan" and i have two types of troopers in it. the "bule troopers" and the "red troopers" i have successfully hex edited everything so that both "colors" use the same models but different textures. i have also done the same with the capes. or...so i think. so the blue side has blue capes, they show up fine. i copied the msh of the 3 different blue capes (yes there are 3 different ones), skinned them, and renamed them, and in the msh that they belong to, i edited the name of the tga (cause i changed it) and i renamed and hex edited everything else correctly, i am sure of that. the problem is, the red side shows up with blue capes. i made sure the addon geometry and odf stuff was all correct, i am absolutely stumped on this one. can anybody help me?

You have to hexedit the name of the cape into your new mesh, too. Did you think it would just magically read your new cape's .odf?

yea i did that. i thought i said that but i guess i wasnt clear enough...

No, you didn't. That's why you have this problem. You might have edited the .tga name, but you have to edit the name of the cape, too.

okay sorry but im a little confused. the cape has to have its own odf too? cause the "blue" side doesnt have any cape odfs and they show up fine.

EDIT: ooooohhh i get it. sorry i just didnt understand what you meant. thanks.

EDIT2: alright now nothing shows up. i know im missing something stupid...

There's a bit in the msh that actually refers to the name of the cape odf, that you would also have to hex edit. Search for "cloth" in the msh and you'll find it. Took me a while to figure that out.

i searched for cloth and couldnt find it. and i dont have any cape odfs and theyre still coming up except for the red ones. excuse my "not-super genius" here :cpu: . help and thanks.
