These are questions we have to ask, oherwise how else are we going to have our work judged?
And the texture isnt required... though the more I think about it a texture should always be implemented... Im not sure... Im not making the rules here, I just wanted to get the ball rolling

Triangle limit: 15k
Texture: Optional(not "counting"?)
Render: Depends(i have to make a render of my models in XSI if i have a normal map and arent using custom shaders who allow more maps in the viewport)
Theme: Metropolis planet; civilian; transport;
Type: Vehicle (air/ land; not space)
Start: August 1st
End: August 30th
How to submit?
Id say you have to provide Screenshots(somewhat hirez) from all sides(front, top, bottom, right, left, back) in shaded and shaded with wireframe/just wireframe. You can just upload your vehicle in .obj format, too.
How are we going to judge the submissions?
Maybe 2:1, "Best" model:community likes most?
We need some judges, too...

Perfect
And I think the moderators should be judges (if they want to) considering they already review our stuff anyway..
Or we can go with selecting the judges by vote via xfire or a thread on here...

I think Mav, Frag, and D.U.C.K. would make good judges. What about you guys? Oh, also, what should be the edge or face limit for us sketchup users? Or better yet, port over a 15k model to sketchup and see how many edges it'll have and use that. Anyone up for that?

It should, but we need judges... how about we just start tomorrow and then keep trying to get the judges gathered until we need them?

i feel honored to be suggested for judging and i would do it, i dont have enough time to take part anyway
i would suggest VF501 and AceMastermind as judges, there should be atleast 4 judges

I'd say there should be 3 or 5, so there's be no ties.

Well, I'm almost finished with my entry. I just want to texture it before I submit it... oh, do we just post our entry with the necessary guide lines?
EDIT
Got a bit busy, so I couldn't post my entry when I wanted to, but now here is my entry. And sorry for the double post...
GR85 Air Bike
Model Info:
Edges: 1882
Faces: 849

Looks good, but I don't like the texture. If you didn't know,if you un-smooth the model, you can texture individual faces and then re-smooth it. The textures will be the same.

But that's what I did. I always texture them like that before I smooth the model. I'll have to work on the texture later, but it is optional for this contest soo... in any case, how's everyone else so far?

I think we should of had a topic saying the rules and when the entry is due. With this topic someone would have to skim through and go to the second page. Plus the title could say contest, to let everyone know that there is actually a contest, instead of just "possibly."
