Maybe he didn't get a good idea and start it, and decide it's good enough to release with many easy-to-add changes. He got a good idea and made it better and better until there were no more possible ideas.

Humens have to fight for freedome!
Aside from the fact that the death regions were annoying, and that parts of the dialogue looked like squirrelking wrote them, its a great map. You get both overpowered units and enough enemies to make go away forest of time to make it a challenge.
As for the ending, make the LAAT a turret you can enter and replace OnEnterRegion with OnCharacterEnterVehicle and a name check:
Code: Select all
OnCharacterEnterVehicle(
if string.lower(GetEntityName(turret)) == "NAME OF LAAT OBJECT" then
if IsCharacterHuman(player) then
PlayAnimation("The animation that plays at the end")
--Other stuff like the timer that ends the mission or however you did it
end
end
end

Hey Ace, I don't really know what you mean with the dialouges, if it's bad english, I'm sorry for that, it's because I'm German.
The Death Regions have been changed into boundaries, you will see in the next version.
The Laat is a problem, because I can't manage it to put in vehicles. Yeah, I know, the AAT's, but they're one time objects, they don't spawn again after they're destroyed and unfortunatly the Laat doesn't work as a one time object. In the new version I think there should be enough time to get on the ship
Thanks for comment, I always try to make everything the best

Probably something about word order then. I can't tell though, because it isn't localized for UK English.
There were some other thigns that detracted from my otherwise incredible enjoyment of the map.
1. Too many droids, so there was some lag.
2. The reticule kept shaking as I fired, which was really annoying.
3. I could go through the hanger door.
4. It takes too long to get from the command posts on the edge of the map to your target. Maybe you could put some captureable command posts in the middle of the map?
5. The LAAT left me behind!
I know some people like the 'realistic' but very annonying reticule shaking and the mountain of droids, so would it be possible to have a second gamemode in which there are less droids, no reticule shaking but maybe a drop in the ARF troopers' health to balance things?
Otherwise this was a great map to play and I really enjoyed it.

Hey, this is a very very good map for a first map.
PS: you must run to the LAAT.

I said it was good. But Bantha55's maps aren't first maps and they suffer from similar problems. If you just munge without doing anything the reticule is fine, so its a matter of
undoing something and lowering the droid count is simple too. As for the localization, you just need to copy from the US english into the UK english field.
PS: you must run to the LAAT.
The objectives aren't localized so I couldn't have known that. Thanks for the tip.

I'm not sure if there is a single difference between UK and US localizations in the stock game, lol (My Kul Ore alarm didn't go off.) Is there a command line switch?

What do you mean by in the stock game? i have UK English and it wasn't localized for me either......i don't know if this is what you're asking but UK and US English are totally different localizations. I have no idea why seeing as the language is exactly the same, but it is. Also, when i played this, there was no mapbounds region as all the cps were on the edge of the circle. A minimap would be nice too.....

While they are exactly the same in the stock assets, UK english and US english are localized seperately. I suppose it's so there aren't arguements over the spelling of colour or something.
