Does anyone play Battlefront 1 anymore?!

Are there any BF1 modders left?

I don't even have BF2 (even though i will buy it).

----EDIT----
I'm thinking this is in the wrong post.
Sorry.

I play SWBF1. I hate the second one.

Yeah, the second one was pretty much just an expansion pack with new maps. SWBF1's classic gameplay was awesome. Like, the BW's at ER were so fun. But now, CW's with SWBF2 suck.

I miss the good ol' days of when modding for SWBF first started, and people actually worked hard and took at least a month to make a high quality map.

SWB1 is classic. This game has:
-normal grenades
-normal LAAT fly control
-ragdoll-style
-normal vehicles (shooting)

SWB2 has:
-normal heroes
-space battles (btw Lord Bandu doesn`t finished MonCal space map for SWB1, but space map for SWB1 was possible)
-new persons: wampas, akclays etc.

So, i like SWB1 more SWB2.

Off-topic : As you've noticed, Karnage, this thread is located in a wrong place, since it should have been created in the "SWBF1 General" sub-section of GameToast forums...
Now I've proceeded to the proper changes, I'd like to advise you to check if all topics you'll make in the future are placed in the most "relevant" section...

I still play SWBF1 mod maps. There's a lot of stuff about the original that I miss and wish had been put into the second one. I actually finished almost all of my mod maps for the original game and released them but since most people play SWBF2 now they didn't get very many downloads....

I still play some Battlefront I. In my opinion BFII was 'teh suxxors'. Battlefront I for the vets and Battlefront II for the 'noobs'.

I understand what you're saying. Battlefront II should have taken at least two years to create and perfect. Also the support we've had for it is unacceptable. One patch? Come on. And that's not even mentioning the fact that the patch created more problems than it fixed, if it fixed any.

So you guys who prefer SWBF1, do you yearn for SWBF2 maps for SWBF1?

Meh, I kinda want to just blend the two games together to make a super Battlefront.

I agree, but only for the space maps. The ground maps for SWBF1 were all awesome, but the ground maps for SWBF2 were so so.

Same thought here. Dont they just die and get stuck on one frame?

The only reason I switched to BF2 (I love BF1, it was awesome) was because I felt that the community was gone and had moved on to BF2. You look at the BF1 forums and there is like 1 new topic a week whil there are like 100 a week for bf2

Yep the space maps are great in BFII and some features (like the sprint) are a nice touch. Also the inside maps are pretty good. But, overall BFI was better. Also there has been very little support for BFII. LA has pulled a 'Republic Commando' (no support besides one patch). In BFI patches came sooner and had more fixes. Oh well. I'll just go play some Counter Strike of Battlefield 2 for a while to feel better.

most of the new 100 threads are just spam or impossible ideas. Atleast in the BFI section its better.

BF2 is superior in every way IMO, except for:

-Inability to create flyers that strafe
-Lack of cockpit views
-Lack of being able to see the pilot (through glass) in external view
-Lack of prone

I actually have BF1 uninstalled, and am taking it to EBGames to get a few bucks for it.
