It's just an acronym - just like "lol" (laugh out loud). He's just saying that he laughed quietly to himself when he saw Nylad's drawing.

That stop motion animation stuff must take forever! about how many frames did you have there?
And @Anakin, It's an effect made by the GIMP photo editing program. If you have the program I can tell you how to do it.

400 individual frames (with several compounded drawings, as you can tell by the erasing marks everywhere)

no i use paint.net. but maybe it will work there, too??
