AI won't enter fighters

I have decided to make a space map for the first time and I'm running into problems.

I set the map to be an "uber mode" map in the LUA which lets the map have 100 AI on each side at once.
I then began to modify the Republic by adding more starfighter spawn points in the hanger. All of the new vehicles I have added appeared but now the Republic AI will not enter any of them. they just walk up to them and stand around the fighters. :x

The CIS still get in all of their ships because I haven't tinkered around with the number of spawn points in their ship.

Any advice on how to force the AI to get in an empty fighter?

I believe you need to spawn them in somewhere other than next to the fighters, then do some planning. Build a hub around your spawn point(s) then place more hubs around the vehicle spawn points. Finally, connect them using connections (make sure that your connections are not simply extending out from the one hub to vehicle spawn hubs, you need to make a complete circuit) and make them only soldiers. This might help get troopers into fighters.

Tried that and that just made the AI walk into the forcefields toward the enemy ship through space

Yes, they do that. Try moving spawn paths and hubs around.
EDIT: Try combinations of one-way pathing, make a circuit that is only one-way. You'll have to experiment.
Note that the height of the paths (should be a box with the label "Height" and a number and slider) must be where the troopers will go. AKA make the height as high as your deck.

Are the Star fighters assigned to the right team? You may also need to assign them to a cp.

The planning part isn't important within the hangar, so long as they can get to it. I've seen them walk up to ships without any planning. Make sure there aren't units in another room, trying to walk through the walls to get to a ship, though.

Actually this brings up a question: Is there a definitive way to get troopers to enter starfighters? I've moved one of the ships with a hangar a small distance and suddenly the troopers are running towards the corner of the hangar.
So far:
-Planning (hubs and connections) makes soldiers go to the ships but they don't hop in most of the time.
-Barriers around the hangar only cause soldiers to stand around the ships. They don't hop in.
-Access HintNodes don't appear to do anything at all.
-Nothing at all sometimes works but is unpredictable.

access hintnodes are attached automatically to turrets and vehicles

This might come in handy, might not. Just thought I'd show this.
