Ok, my map crashes. I looked in the FAQ thread so please don't tell me to look there. It wasn't much help. But I don't know how to fix this crashing! Do I have too many objects in my map? Will that affect it? I don't know.

Pleez Help!

You'll have to give us more detail than that. Run the BF2 Log and show us what comes up. Seeing as you've read the FAQ, you should know what that is at least.

ok, Rekubot. the whole thing in the FAQ was a bit confusing for me to understand could someone explain to me? And I don't know if I have the dvd or the cd version. How do you know?

elmo, you have to see when it started crashing, like what did u do befrore u munged and it started crashing?

You can tell if its DVD or CD by looking at the case for the game.

Ok Symbols I have the CD version but I play the game in the DVD drive. It started crashing when I imported objects from Kashyyyk to my Kashyyyk map. before that, when there were only mountains I made, it didn't crash. So I'm not sure

ok, u need to go back and make sure all of the msh or odf files are there for the kashyyyk files, i would prolly copy all the odfs and mshs into my folder and delte ones i dont use

Ok symbols, I tried something like that. I didn't use the Msh files, I only used the Odf files, and I copied them to the place where my world 1 folder is. Is that where I put it? Anyway I appreciate what you are doing for me.

Ok wait. what do you mean?

Do you mean the odf folder I copied from the Kashyyyk folder? Delete the things I don't need in there? Or in the original folder in the KAS thing in the assets folder. And lemme tell you this. To import the objects of Kashyyyk I copied the odf folder from the Kashyyyk folder into my Data ABC/worlds/ABC folde. next to the world 1 folder. Right? And then I went to the ZE and went to objects and I think clicked browse ODF file and chose the objects I wanted. And selected place and put them where I wanted. Is that how it's done? In the words of C3P0- "I'm so confused"

Edit: Ok, why'd I just lose every object I placed? I just don't get it.

Edit again: It's not the objects I placed, for some reason I lost all the objects I placed in my map and the darn thing still crashes! WHAT IS WRONG!? :x

ok do this, make 3 folders in ur data_???/worlds/??? make the following folders(no quotation marks): "odf" "msh" and "effects" then grab all they stuff u want in ur map, i sugest unstead of makin the folders just copy them there from kashyyyk, then they will have all of the files u need by default, that shgould do it. When u place an object, take them from data_???/worlds/???/odf folder.

Copy all folders in BF2_ModTools\assets\worlds\KAS but not the world2 folder.
Paste them in Data_***\Worlds\***\

Even the world 2 folder? because walrus said don't copy that one. Anyway I gotta tell ya this. When I built my map (clicking munge) after it was done, I got a message saying something about 2 warnings and 0 errors, I don't know if you ever encountered something like that. But anyway, so I play the game and my map crashes :x I deleted my map and started over. I start adding objects and then when I munge... I get the same warning. But now it DOESN"T crash. Thats wierd. So for now I got it under control, but stay tuned!

warnings dont really matter, only pay attentiopn to the errors. It prolly only worked for the 2nd one because u already messed up the first one, glad its workin

Water can mess up your map if you even attempt to put it in there. Trust me, I had this problem for like 3 months until someone told me to clear all the water. :x

Fixed.

Water's not necessarily a problem, you just have to make sure you do it right. The best way to fix your map, if you played around with water at all, is to either go the water menu in ZE and delete it all, or just remake the map.

About copying the world2 folder...

If you copy it, it will just take up more HD space and make you munging a lot slower. It shouldn't harm anything, but that's just to clear things up.
