Softimage Issue

So I have an issue with Softimage 7.5 where after I have imported an object I get a message a few minutes later saying "failure to save scene before system failure." Is there a way to fix this or is it because Softimage 7.5 is just too old to really use on newer computers?

What's the object you're trying to import, and what file format is the file?

I was trying to import a jet trooper that I had converted to an .obj file. It loaded up just fine, but then I got the error a little bit later.
