1. Is SPtest.exe in your C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData folder, if not put the little SPtest icon in that folder

2. Make sure you map is in you C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData\AddOn folder then double click the SPtest icon(you don't need the disc in to play in SPtest)

3. Half your screen will be partly transparent green (this is normal) now play as you normaly would and when it crashes then open the log and see if any thing is in there!

Ok first to let your pc make a "log" file which I think might be what you need, open -My Computer-->Tools-->Folder Options-->View (second tab)-->Uncheck "Hide Extensions For Known File Types" press OK then go to you SWBF gamedata folder!
Make a word pad text document by(right clicking any where other than your files then hover you mouse over the "new" entry in the list and it will give you a list of new stuff to make click "text document" and then copying this name "BFront.log" in (without the quotes) as the name of the text document now maybe SPtest will log your errors in this file
(p.s. if you don't like seeing all the file extensions at the end of a file names like .exe, or .txt just go back through the steps to recheck the box that I told you about, it won't hurt your .log file because we already named it!.)
