Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

I waited until the official release date had passed for the other platforms before I posted this. ATM Tomb Raider forums everywhere are filled with exclusivity-hate comments.

So, who has bought this game over Steam, PSN or XBox Live? I bought it over XBox Live and while the story is somewhat weak I have to say the gameplay is almost like classic Tomb Raider within an arcade setting.

I have not long got past the flaming T-Rex so I haven't yet completed the game.

Luckily I got the demo from Steam through gamespot but haven't purchased the full game yet. My favourite of the more recent games was Tomb Raider Anniversary which was quite challenging with some complex puzzles. If Eidos have kept the same sort of formular with exploration, and combat I can't see what people are complaining about.

They're complaining that Xbox got it a month early and will be getting the first pack of DLC free (to compensate for the deactivated Co-op mode)

Played the XBLA demo today. The first time it locked up my 360, an immediate turn off. I gave it another try though, and it was fairly fun. Not 1200MSP fun, but 800MSP fun. When it goes on sale I'll probably pick it up, particularly if they fix that lockup issue. The DLC will be a big one for me too. I'm expecting playable characters along with new levels.

Crystal have confirmed 5 DLC packs, I think two will contain new characters from other Eidos and Square Enix games, although Keir Edmonds, Eidos' public relations guy, who goes onto the Tomb Raider forums to chat to fans, refuses to tell us who these characters are. The first DLC pack, free for 30 days for the XBox360, will contain the co-op patch (for XBox only) and three new challenge rooms.

As for locking up... XBoxes can do that sometimes. I've had it done to me on other games that shouldn't. It seems to be a fault with the XBox360 itself as opposed to the game.

Dunno if I agree with that -- the only games that have ever locked up on me matched Google searches showing other folks had the same problem. I've never had a lockup that wasn't something lots of folks had too. Didn't find a ton with GoL, but I did find a few posts on it. Meh, I'm all for patch fixes, so if a title update fixes it I'll have no complaints. I like the game a lot, but I just don't know if I like it for the price.

Eh, it is a bit pricey and I do think it will go down in the next few months or so. The free DLC might make up for it.

Bought this the other day. Got 10,000 MSP for 1/2 price from someone who didn't need them  Haven't had a chance to go back and start playing it, but it's there. I enjoyed the demo and I'm looking forward to the online coop that's coming really soon.
