Modtools Visual Munge Runtime Error [Solved]

Post by elfie »

For some reason when I try to create a new map I keep getting this message:

Code: Select all

Runtime Error!
This application has caused the runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
Everything is fine when I first click "create map", but then when it reaches Rewritting LDX file the dialogue box with the error comes up, and when I click ok, it closes with no new data_XXX folder created.

I would appreciate it if anyone has any idea of how to fix this.

I'm not sure how that error showed up, but the only thing I can say is redownload the modtools.

I got the same problem! I've tried reinstalling it, but wont work. I'll try his suggestion.

EDIT
Nope, I tried it and still got the same error.

I thought your problem was with zeroeditor and not with modtoolsvisualmunge.exe Any way, I tired restarting my computer which usually does fix those problems, but no cigar. Strange, it worked fine all this way. It has had zero problems for a year, and yet when I try and make this one map it crashes. Wait a second...I had never tried to create a space map before! Only a land one! What directory do the space assets go in? the assets folder?

Well, It actually works now. I had the space_template folder in the assets for some reason instead of the ModTools folder. Lock please :D

EDIT:

Wait, before it is locked, just so I don't have to make a new topic for this, is foliage possible in space maps?

Dude, post that somewhere else not here. You have already posted that in like fifty different places. If people can help then they will, but don't wine and complain. Not everyone has this problem, so they won't neccesarily be able to fix it. Make sure you installed the mod tools correctly, that is key to fixing these kinds of problems and if you have vista it may not work period. Like I said, asking someone to help you a thousand times in a thousand different places, is much less effective than posting something 1 time in your own topic. You already mentioned that twice in this topic alone so could you focus on fixing the problem and not asking for help please? Hate to be harsh, but I just want you to understand what I am saying.

Try first, ask later.
