Can anyone suggest to me some free fun games that can run on a laptop with a no-name/generic graphics card?
You see every now and again I go on vacation, or my computer messes up, (like recently my power supply and video card quit had to be fixed.) and I have to play games on my mothers laptop.
I have 55 Gb of space left on the mobile hard drive, so size is no matter.
I already have: (some not free but just FYI)
Various emulators
Stronghold and Stronghold: Crusader
The Hobbit
Battlefront 1 (lags)
Rouge Squadron
Knytt Stories
The -N-
Anno 1602
Pure Pazaac (off or online arcade Pazaac (KotOR) game.)

Here's a java version of L4D called L4KD. It;s pretty good

There are also Pokemon MMOs like Pokemon Global.
And of course emulators. Project N64 is the best.

Is "The -N-" the gold-frenzied ninja game? If it is that is a truly remarkable game. If it isn't then...
here is a link.

Commander Keen - Classic Side-scroller
Assault Cube - Freeware, Cube based FPS.
Modern Art - Computer version of a board game that I really enjoy.

I didn't get Cube either. AC is way different and much better. It's sort of a CS Terrorists vs Anti-terrorist setup. Graphics aren't great, but the bots are pwnage. I believe it has multiplayer as well. Very small and it will run on almost anything. I would highly recommend it.

Yes, all the Cube Engine games are great in my opinion, but AC is by far the best.

Thanks for the replies guys. Looked into and nabbed several of your suggestions. I gotta say, Assault cube is alot of fun for something so basic. It reminds me of the old N64 James Bond games.
