C.R.A.S.H. spells crash, which is what this is.

I have been working long and hard on this map and it was almost ready for release, then shockingly... crash. The game always crashes when you are choosing what team to play as. The weird thing is is that I haven't modified the units before the crash or the turrets. I did however modify a vehicle right before the crash, but I changed it back and cleaned. I get the weirdest errors in my BFront2.log file and I was hoping you all could help me. Here are the message severity 3 errors:

It used to say the same thing about the vehicle.lvl, but with the cis.lvl, I just don't know how I fixed it. I don't remember doing anything to it.

The middle three are the only ones that'll cause crashes, but my money says the missing explosion is your issue. Make sure you've copied that explsion fx over to your side.

The thing is that error I have seen before the crash with no penalties, but I'll try.

It depends. Some objects require the FX in order for the game to run, some don't. Also, comment out the stap line in your ODF to see if that's the issue.


Did they even use the STAP in SWBF2?

Yeah they did actually, on yavin and geonosis. I know what you mean though. If they go to the trouble to make the jed_inf_sith and all of that why don't they just use them in the game.

Hint references don't crash the game. Lost of the Convo Pack maps have that error.

What stap line do I comment out in my odf, or do you mean my lua.

Look in your vehicles side folder, and make sure cis_hover_stap
  • 1. Is in vehicles.req and spelled correctly
    2. Has a .req file in the req folder that is named correctly
    3. The reference for cis_hover_stap in cis_hover_stap.req is spelled correctly.
Also, try commenting out the explosion line in b1m_weap_recoilless_rifle_exp.odf.

Edit: No luck. I got rid of both errors and it still crashes.

ughhh.. what did you do with the terrain?

maybe you should clean and re-munge

the cp1 not found thing is a naming issue, make sure there is a cp in the loaded z-edit layer named cp1

Did you clean from VisualMunge? Unless you do a manual clean that error won't go away.

The manual clean just finished, but now the map is crashing again. I'll try to get a log.

Edit: I just got a log which makes no sense. I haven't edited the map since before the crash and now its saying I've got end_prop_treeclump3 or something, which I already deleted because I know it doesn't work. I'm stuck on what to do because I've checked and I don't have any of the objects its listing. And no I didn't miss it going through, as I have less than 50 objects anyway and went through them about 10 times.

Post the log anyways, it can't hurt. Also, check your .wld file for end_prop_treeclump3. It's possible something didn't get deleted totally.

I got rid of the crashing problem by opening up the .wld file (or whatever it is) with notepad and finding the treeclump written in there. Then I deleted that line, and thought I patched it up, but aparently not, as now I can't spawn and the pc munge log says:

Just so I'm following you, you deleted the whole section for that object, and not just the one line, right? If that's the case then those sequence numbers may be some sort of unique identifier that all of the sudden is missing one in the sequence.


If we can't solve this, PM me.

I deleted the "end_prop_treeclump3" from the line. Which should also make something in the wld file without a partner object when its being listed. I have checked for that and typos and have found nothing.
