No problem. Since you guys don't seem to like the sky, I blured it up a bit like it was originally. I still kept the blue glare though, because I thought it looks cool.Super_Clone wrote:Yea, No offense, but I don't like the sky either..
Because A. I don't neccessarily want a sun since it is nighttime B. I don't think I can make the sun blue C. It would take me about a thousand tries before I got the placing right.Xavious wrote:Why not put in a real sun instead of trying to texture it on to the sky dome?
If you don't want a sun, then what is that blue thing in the sky supposed to be? Also, you can in fact change the color of a sun.elfie wrote:Because A. Do I add the Yavin planet sky object in through the sky file or do I have to manually place it in the sky dome texture? I still personally think the blue thing looks pretty sweet. Perhaps it could be a solar eclipse or a really bright star? You see those at night.Xavious wrote:If you don't want a sun, then what is that blue thing in the sky supposed to be? Perhaps a moon would suit better? You could reskin the Yavin planet sky object. I really think the blue thing looks silly, whatever it is meant to be.
You add it through the sky file as a sky object.elfie wrote:Do I add the Yavin planet sky object in through the sky file or do I have to manually place it in the sky dome texture? Okay thanks, I'll investigate both and see which I like more. One last thing: Is the sky object automatically going to be placed in the center of the sky or do I control the coordinates in the file?Xavious wrote:You add it through the sky file as a sky object.elfie wrote:Do I add the Yavin planet sky object in through the sky file or do I have to manually place it in the sky dome texture? Of course, it is your map, so you are free to do as you wish. I was merely providing my personal opinion.
I thought so too. So I put in a moon and I think it looks a lot better and realistic:Par3210 wrote:love the sky again, one hundred percent better. Also Xavious has a good idea about putting a moon, I think the blue thing looks cool but I'm not sure what it is. Still it is your map.
Yeah, its kinda like:Xavious wrote:That's no moon! That's a gigantic cookie!
You are aiming for a realistic Earth, right? Because the moon isn't really that big, nor is it lumpy like that. It looks like a giant, shiny, chocolate chip cookie. (Or is it cookiee? Gosh dangit George Lucas, you've got me all screwed up)
