Serenity Valley (v1 Released!)

About:
If any of you have seen the Firefly T.V. Series, you will be anxious for this mod map. It takes place in the universe created by Joss Whedon in Firefly and Serenity (T.V. Show and Film respectively). This is the Battle of Serenity Valley that is shown in the pilot episode (that was never aired until after the series, thanks to FOX, they suck by the way). You can find more information on Firefly

Features
-No default command posts, all of them will be replaced with flags by t551'
-Completely modified sides for the Alliance and the Independents
-New weapon models by Moving_Target and Murdocr showcased
-AI skiff shredding infantry (thanks to archer01) Not Working
-New heroes: Malcolm Reynolds and Lt. Womack (skinned with the faces of the actors)
-Majority for props are not shipped models.
-Award weapon function removed to keep all soldiers even at all times
-No ammon or health droids, so make every moment count and every shot hit its respective mark because the only way to heal or get ammo is off the dead on the battlefield.

Srenity is the same universe as Firefly? Cooooolll.... I did not know.

Firefly is a whole lot better than Serenity. I'd advise seeing it.

Also, do you think you could make those flags for me still?
EDIT: Three new screenshots. Note that the ground is still not textured, that will not be the final texture. And the sky is not redone. I'm also having trouble getting the turret from Mygeeto into the map. I access the ODF TUR_BLDG_RECOILLESS_LG to put into the map from the MODID/sides/tur/odfs folder and placed it in ZE, but it does not show up when I munge the map and test it.

I love Firefly/Serenity...can't wait to play this map!!! Looks awesome so far - are you going to have new models for the Browncoats or Alliance?

No new models, but of course new skins. I'm working on Modifying the skin for Teancum's AAT-X to be an Alliance hovertank. And thank you for posting! No one ever seems to post in my topic.

exploding barrels ? GREAT !
Is the explosion linked to the barrels, or is there a script for each barrel ?
And does the explosion deal damage ?

looks cool love the idea of using no shipped assets in a map. Good to see more and more designers moving away from that. Elerion was working on that too before he fell off the face of the earth

The explosion is linked to the barrles (ie they blow up when you shoot them. I love Saturn's ideas, lol), however they don't deal damage for some reason. I'm working on that. Sine an explosion is linked to the ordinace of a player, you wouldn't get kills I imagine (that's just what I heard Teancum say). I may get XSI and tyr modeling again for this. I just was never good with that program. I've used other prgrams but I can't get XSI down, lol.

Update:
I'm now using the Kashyyyk assets from BF1 and am still using holograms until someone can make flags. I tried XSI and can't really get the hang of it. I worked in it for hours, followed tutorials, but modeling in that isn't my strongpoint. If someone could make two flags on flagpoles with the Alliance and Browncoat logos on them, that would be awesome (see link in main post for pictures). I'd also like a sandbag modeled if anyone can do that. Well, anyway new screenshot, this time of the Independents Base:

Alpha, I'm still on for the flags, except for one thing... I ordered the CD version of XSI , and it was supposed to arrive sometime last week, but i t still hasn't arrived. Apparently the Softimage shipping center is in some snowed-in Antarctic base or something.

Hm....I wish more people would post so I wouldn't have to do it twice in a row. New update:
-Map layout is 90% done
-Three units for the Independence Faction are finished
-I also have a preview video, but no where to upload it. Savefil won't take it for some reason.

Yay, glad that the layout and units are almost done!! Just one question, is the map gonna be at night, like in the first episode?

It will. I haven't done lighting and texture yet. I hope to add random explosions if possible. I'm also uploading the preview video to filefront, but it'll be another 15 minutes or so.
BTW if people like this map I may build and release the Battles of Persephone, Du-Khang, and Sturges.

Thank you. And I must say that this map will be fun once bot planning is done. It's fun now, lol.
I need to add a CP, do bot pathing, skinning, lighting, and wait for the flags to be finished. I also would like a sandbag modeled so I can buidl some WWII like barriers if anyone can do that.

Map Update:
I have some new models for the map from eddie, so I was able ot mostly finish it off. I still need flags for the command posts, but other than that, it's almost done. I finished the Alliance and Browncoat skins and made the hero for the Browncoats. The Alliance hero has not been made yet however. I'm finishing up lighting right now and here are are few new screens for you (no new lighting here yet):

Looks really nice can't wait till it comes out. I like the Alliance soldier...but it's helmet looks like my snowboarding helmet :S lol thas all tho otherwise i like it. Oh and for the turret base are you gonna have some no controllable turrets? i love those i can't get enough of em
