He's especially proud of the flamethrower. It works great, and is actually quite well balanced. The unit models aren't exactly new, but the weapon schemes are excellent.

The designer (Astute) really does have a tactical mind. This map often requires tactical ability. Even before he added the new units it was extremely fun to play. The new units make it so much better too.

what are the blue and black troopers?

We had to remove the Jetpack-utilizing units, since they made it possible to jump right over the side of the gate and capture the final spawn, so he came up wtih two new units that are really good. I will give you a breif summary of each.

Clone Assault Trooper:
Medium Repeater
AMHW-2 Flame Spitter
Thermal Detonator

The Clone Assault Trooper is a very basic unit, with some very cool weapons. The Medium Repeater is an SMG like weapon, with pretty good accuracy, and excellent fire rate. It fires thin blue bolts. The Flame Spitter, my favorite new main weapon, is a joy to use. It has a decent range for a short range weapon, and best used for melee. Hint: Easiest to aim and use from Third Person view. It comes with a normal complement of three regulation thermal detonators.


Storm Commando:
AMLG-39 NUNA
Shock Pistol
AMG-45 Scatter Grenade
ASC-89 Electrical Charge

The Storm Commando may look familiar, but he has some suprises. The NUNA is an odd weapon. It is sort of like a mix of a sniper rifle and an assault rifle. Once you get used to it, it is quite useful. The shock pistol is a major advantage for the Commando. It rapidly fires a small number of powerful bolts, but has a long recharge time. Excellent emergency weapon. The new Scatter is my favorite grenade. When Astute found the grenade controls, we were astounded by the variety of variables, and as a result, possibilites. The first one he came up with was this- a grenade that doesn't do much damage, but has a good range and excellent push effect. Because it rolls well, you can throw it quite far and accurately. I suggest using it to knock the enemies off of the cliff... The Electrical Charge is a time bomb device, but it only works on vehicles. It will stick as well, and has a long clock so that you have plenty of time to plant it and run. Since it is an electrical charge, it does little damage to organics, and is frankly not worth it for them. All in all a good addition to the Imperial Army.

He is munging befor our final run of beta tests. Tons of them. Can't wait, it's very fun.

so is the clone assulte trooper the blue or green trooper?

I think one of those pics is of a slightly earlier version. He has been trying different colors. I beleive he chose the Teal one.
