As all you players of SWBF1 for Mac know, the newest release of MacOSX: 10.7 "Lion" doesn't support SWBF1 Mac because its a PowerPC app, and Lion is an Intel-only OS, and Apple cut the PowerPC App support for Lion (called Rosetta). Therefore, you can't play SWBF1 if you have Lion... or can you? here are some methods for bringing SWBF1 back to the mac.

Difficulty: Moderate (depends on how much you know about Macs, Bootcamp, installing OSX, )

Four Different Methods: two that keep your mac, a mac-only mac, and two that involve windows on your mac

-You'll need:
An Intel Mac (the only kind that supports Windows or Snow Leopard), and a copy of SWBF1 for Mac
A Copy of OS X Snow Leopard (10.6), or Leopard (10.5)
-or- (much easier solution)
a copy of Windows XP, Vista, or 7, the edition (ie. Professional, Home Basic, Home Server, etc) does not matter for this, and SWBF1 for PC

FOr installing an older version of OSX
Backup your Main Hard Drive, PArtition your main harddrive, one partition for Lion, one for the older OSX
Reinstall Lion back on the main partition
Install the older OSX on the other partition

The Mac method (requires rebooting into your operating system that can play SWBF)
Backup Important files, completley wipe your main hard drive, and reinstall snow leopard, and be happy with just that.

The Windows Methods

Method #1 (reccomended, free. cons: rebooting required to play SWBF): Use The BootCamp Utility to install Windows (XP, Vista, or 7) on to a separate partition on your mac. Install SWBF there.

Method #2 (costly, but eliminates the need to reboot into another OS, but still not the best solution): Install VMWare/Paralells Desktop/whatever other emulators there are and put windows on the virtual machine

Important Note: Keep in mind that by doing one of the Windows methods, you also will be able to Install SWBF2 on the mac, the modtools, the BF2 modtools, and many great bf2 mod masterpieces
