Mist and fog doesn't work

Hey,

I followed the EYN tutorial on fog, but the result from that was just little puffballs of fog floating around randomly. I tried to put in the dag_prop_mist from Dagobah, yet I saw nothing ingame (I have all the assets for it). And then I tried to edit the .sky file to create a fog. I went to edit this part:

Code: Select all

SkyInfo()
{
	Enable(1);

	FogColor(71,81,49);
	FogRange(100.0, 1000.0);
I looked around, and changed it to Felucia's fogrange, but all that did was make a large dark area around me, like I had an enormous shadow. Then I changed it to Dagobah's fogrange (I didn't want THIS much fog, but I just wanted to try and see), but still, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Am I doing something wrong? I just want a medium-sized fog, the kinds you would sometimes see on a really early morning.

There's no good way to simply make a light mist. You either have pea soup, distance fog, or patches if you want to work with the assets that already exist.

If you want to approximate your goal, your best bet is simply using large particle effect clouds, but depending on the particle density you could be looking at performance issues.

(sorry for the delayed post, i forgot about this)

Yeah. I don't know what you mean about pea soup, but I DEFINETELY want some distance fog. AND patches. My problems:

1) The distance fog either doesn't work or I don't know how to work with it.

2) I put dag_prop_mist into ZE, and it shows up as a flat cylinder, but ingame, nothing.

Hope I cleared up my problem some.

(HA! Get it? CLEARED UP? 'Cause, it's....fog...Aight, I'll stop.)
