In what order would you show the star wars films to kiddies?

Thats it. In what order would you show the films to your children (my buddies and I were having a debate about this)? Would you show them in canon order, and the shock of the death of the jedi, or in the original order and have surprise at Luke's parency? Or, would you just show one trilogy or the other?

This. If it worked for me, it'll work for my future kids.

I, myself, would probably skip Episode 1 altogether, and show it to them like this: 2,3,4,5,6. I would possibly add the first to the end if need be.

The only order I can get in that isn't release order (which, like the rest of the posters here, would be my first choice) might be 451236.

i was thinking about this a week ago,i would show them 123456 because i think that the original trilogies secrets are very famous and they would know about them before seeing the movies.

Definitely 4, 5, 6, then the prequels if they enjoyed the original trilogy. I don't think the prequels would really work well as an introduction to Star Wars - they require at least some prior knowledge of the OT to really be understood.

Meh, to be honest I think the first episode actually explains a good amount about the Jedi and the Force, specifically during the scenes where Qui-Gon is running Anakin's blood tests and when they are all at the Jedi Temple in Coruscant where the descriptive plot of Anakin is happening.

I'd show them Adywan's versions from 1 to 6 when they are done. That way we get the shock of Luke's father AND shock of the death of the Jedi (which, at the moment on the official releases, isn't that shocking anyway). I'd then take out the official versions of all the movies and leave them in a nice spot for them to watch on their own accord.

I agree with Eggman. I think Obi Wan's and Yoda's explanations of the Force were good enough in the OT.

I think I might actually show them the movies in numerical order. Why? Because children would be likely to enjoy the prequels as much, if not more, than the original trilogy. I did when I was 4, 8, and 11. I'm pretty sure that's why Jar Jar was in 1 anyway, because fans of the original trilogy would have kids who could get interested in Star Wars by that time. Besides, it not like 1, 2, and 3 were terrible movies, they were just bad in comparison to 4, 5, and 6. I dunno, maybe I'm just lighter on movies than others. I also haven't seen any SW movies in close to 2 years, sooo...

I watched them as I got them 5,4,6,1,3,2 Didn't work out to well. :? But in the future I would show them in the order of release, the whole "I am your father" was on of the biggest moments in the films and I see no reason to spoil that. Plus the prequels were released with the idea that everyone had watched the originals and they were mainly a backstory.

i totally agree with you fluffy, they're great movies, not many movies are as good,it's just that they're not so fantastic like the OT and it's story is a bit worse, but i think it's a bit worse because everyone had a very good idea of how the prequels would end.

I agree with you. I still think it would be best to watch them in the order they were made. Mainly because there are some secrets best learned by watching the OT first. That is why Eaol suggests seeing Adywan's versions of the movies, for his edits remove the secrets being revealed in ROTS, Luke and Leia are siblings, and are the offspring of Anakin.

You mean Luke and Leia are OFFSPRING of Anakin. And nobody will know this until Ep. 5-6.

Yeah, grammar fail on my part. I was trying to say "Luke and Leia are siblings, and are the offspring of Anakin."

I would actually show my kids 1 and 2, skip 3 and then 4,5,6. Just so I can see their faces after 5. It will make the "I am your father scene" all the more shocking. Maybe 1,2,4,5,3,6, because they'll want to know how Anakin became bad asap.
