Shield that Doesn't Block Bolts [Solved]

Is it possible to make a shield that doesn't block bolts? Like, if a unit was underwater, it would prevent damage from the water, but would let blaster bolts pass through?
Say, if I gave the unit an addshield value of 1 or something?
Is it possible?

The only known remedy for working:
BF2 Limitations topic wrote:•Water will always damage a standard unit you. Non-standard units are Droideka's and Vehicles. These have modifiable Damage rates via WaterDamageInterval and WaterDamageAmount.
These limitation for standard units can be counteracted by placing a Damage Region that does negative damage(Essentially a Healing Region) in the water higher than a unit's head. Side effects include a red flashing screen and a blue healing ring around the unit.
Simply adding a droideka's shield to an unit doesn't help. You'd need to fake an underwater level in order to gain a believable effect.

Actually, adding a droideka's shield blocks the unit from sustaining damage from water, as long as it is activated before you enter the water.

Oh yes? Well, to make a second argument; the AI usually don't know they need to activate it before going into the water. If you are still planning to do a "real" underwater map, it's important to keep in mind that you have to work with submersive bases and the only way to stop the AI from dying is through the use of vehicles.

Really? Anyway, a single shot on a unit with AddShield=1 will destroy the shield (assuming you meant MaxShield was at 1), thus causing the unit to take damage and drown. Using the AddShield property, there is nothing to activate, so the AI would be fine (until they were hit).

You can remove the gain health effect.

I don't know about the Droideka shield, but personal shields will. Like the shields on BA 2.0.

Excuse me? Could you remind me where and when they were there? I can't recall that.

Red vs. Blue all units have regenerating personal shields.

As for water and personal shields, water will damage them, but a shield of max 25 and add 25 doesn't contribute too much to hits to kill, but protects against water. (15 with Guardian, but for AI, 25)

Thank you!! That's exactly what I want!! The scuba unit can go in the water without sustaining damage, but once they are hit by an enemy, they will drown.
Thanks!!

Good point. You may be able to add something to the odf, but other than that, no.

My unit that can go underwater has a melee attack, no guns (you can use those underwater).
