BFII will not run [SOLVED]

So, today I upgraded my laptop to Windows 7. I downloaded the BF2_ModTools and installed them. Then, I tried to install Battlefront 2, with no luck. I think that scratches on the disk prevented a succesful install. (

) However, BF2 is installed on another of my computers, and I copied all the necesarry files to the laptop. Now, when I run Launch Bf2, the option appears as "Install" rather than "Play." Is there any way to fix this aside from buying a new disk and re-installing?

Try running the "BattlefrontII.exe" in the gamedata folder instead.

Uh-oh.... that's not there. It's also gone on the other computer, unless I renamed it. How much space does it take up?

You can't just copy the files from one computer to another. You have to copy over the regestry and I don't recommend doing that. Did you get the "upgrade" instead of the full reformat? That was my mistake also and a bunch of my hardware stopped working...

Found the .exe and a bunch of other necessary files hiding on a flash drive- now it works great! Thanks for the help everyone.
-Fasty:
I used the "Full Upgrade" that resets your hard drive and things are still working smoothly for me.

I know the topic is already solved, but this is false.
I copied the files of my copy of SWBF2 from my desktop to my laptop, works perfectly. Took a couple flash drives, but nothing went wrong aside from getting the v1.3 patch to work, and all I had to do was reinstall it with the Win7 installer.

And it works online on servers? Hmmm...weird because it wouldn't have your CD key installed (among other things).

Yeah, it transfers the CD key because you copy the "CDKey.exe" from the Install folder. We can't play online on the same server with both computers at once, but one can play on one server while the other is in a different one, or we can both play in the same LAN server at the same time.
